About this deal

If the idea of replacing your bike’s grips fills you with dread, Oxford’s HotGrips Wraps take away the fear. They secure over the top of your grips with velcro to give two different heat settings, taking their power from your bike’s battery.

These Premium Adventure Heaterz are designed as a replacement for the handlebar grips already fitted to the motorcycle. They will fit onto most motorcycles that use 7/8" (22mm) Ø handlebars. Each grip has an open end to allow the bar end weight to be refitted without the need to trim the grip. The standard length of the Premium Adventure Heaterz grip is 5.19" (132mm). Should the length need to be shortened, they can be trimmed to a minimum length of 4.80" (122mm) without damaging the heating elements. External grip Ø = 1.35" (34.2mm). We would suggest choosing the equivalent length grips that you currently have. Longer grips can be trimmed by approximately 5mm tofit. HotGrips® EVO Adventure are ideal for off road trails and have a waffled finger-grip area for increased control. This problem is specific to my model of bike but it might occur with others that have busy switchgear. I got around it by rotating the left switchgear as far forward as I was comfortable with and I can now at least see the LEDs on the grips, even if they're not in the optimum position. Once I was happy with the orientation I then glued the left grip in place. I find having them on the low setting is the perfect way to stop my hands feeling like they might go to sleep. During winter commutes the grips are likely to live on the middle setting, but rarely do I expect to move to red as that setting feels thermonuclear! The ends of the grips are open meaning you do not have to cut anything which is great, and superglue is included which may be required to secure the grips to stop them spinning. The downside to these grips is that the live battery feed exists as a bare wire. I’d much prefer to see a ring connector pre-attached but for the price, it’s only a minor gripe. I have put the grips on my 125er and they hang over a bit on the end so I can get my balance bits bk on can I trim the ends down with put damaging the heating upprocess??? November 22, 2017 Oxford are top of the list when it comes to aftermarket heated grips and their new Pro grips are their latest and greatest offering." Mad or Nomad Will these or any of the other Oxford Hot Grips fit the Kawasaki ER6N 2016?Thanks! September 12, 2017

Hi there I have a 1050 V Strom 2022 would these grips fit that bike as the Suzuki one's I have ATM are a pile of **** I take it that these actually get hot (had oxfords before and loved them nice and hot) I can only just feel heat through the summer gloves hence why I am looking at changing them for theoxfords. February 14, 2023 These will be fine. The end of the grips may need trimming to fit - the maximum uncut and cut lengths are shown on each item. If you measure the grips that you already have fitted, you may find that the Touring grips are a more suitablelength. Hi, do these grips turn themselves off when you turn off the ignition or do you have to do itmanually? June 13, 2018 The Premium Sports grips will fit your Kawasaki with no issues - they may require trimmingslightly. The Sports or the Touring grips will be fine - if you measure the length of your standard grips, and choose whichever grips would require the least trimming. The maximum uncut length and the maximum cut length are shown for eachproduct.

Conclusion

There are easy-to-install ring connectors to attach the grips to your bike’s battery terminal and the wires are coated in durable plastic which will help prevent damage from extended use. The labelling on the connectors is confusing. There are three connectors coming from the battery loom, and you attach both grips and the controller to these. All connectors are the same size and colour which means in theory you can plug any end to any other end.

Provided the bars have a diameter of 22mm, the grips should fit ok. The working length is 123mm / 114mm and the grips can be cut down to within this size range ifrequired. I have a Harley Davidson street rod 750 with bar end mirrors the OEM grips are approx 115mm would you recommend these or the touring grips? Thanks inadvance April 26, 2018 The new Oxford HotGrips Pro are very well designed, pretty easy to fit and offer great heat for winter rides or any time you want some warmth in your hands. - BikeSocialThe ends of the grips require cutting to size if you have handguards on your bike, though there is not much spare grip to cut off (without damaging the heating element) which created an additional problem. My throttle did not move freely due to the poor sizing and I was reluctant to try cutting more off as I didn’t want to break the element. Heated grips are great additions to any bike, in fact, we think motorcycle manufacturers of adventure and touring models should include them as standard. If none are fitted, they are the first things that I add. My hands are very susceptible to the cold throughout the year, and if you’re touring in the Alps in the summer it’s not uncommon for temperatures at the top of passes to dip below freezing, so I do not consider heated grips to be a seasonal accessory. The original KTM grips on my bike were not warm enough and one of them had failed, but another key reason for fitting these Oxford grips was the convenience of having a button on the left-hand grip. Re-designed rubberised internals - easier to fit and more secure than conventional heated grips. Through-moulded rubber gives a strong and reassuring glue bond to the handlebar. The controller attached to the grip is a bit too clunky for my liking though there are four settings which are achieved by sliding the switch. A small LED on the throttle grip indicates whether the grips are working, but this is a bit on the small side and hard to see.

There are several makes of heated grips on the market, each with different pros and cons as highlighted in this review . The main concern and first hurdle encountered by all is how complicated they are to fit. What I’ve found from testing the eight grips in this review is that it is not actually that difficult, and on average, if you don’t rush, you can have a pair fitted within 30 minutes.

Motorcycle

I tested this feature using a multimeter and found they drew no measurable current when the bike battery’s voltage dropped through the engine stopping. They really do only power up when the engine starts, so they shouldn’t have any impact on a healthy bike battery.
