Probably the most exciting feature of the Vanquish Series, which puts it way ahead of others in its price range (and above), is the inclusion of Minelab's unique Multi-IQ Simultaneous Multi-Frequency Technology, as seen in the Equinox Series which made it a real game changer in the metal detecting world and by far the best selling metal detector in 2018, 2019 and probably all-time to date. All the above mentioned made Minelab create another new product line. To be more exact, they started this process long ago by designing a middle level metal detector – Minelab Equinox. Then the company announced another metal detector, which I expected to be an alternative to their flagship device CTX 3030, but it wasn’t…. Minelab’s Vanquish 540 is the top dog in their new Vanquish series of metal detectors. Minelab has been an industry leader for the past 35 years, and decided it was time to make an entry level metal detector with great features at an affordable price. Vanquish 540 comes with Minelab’s state of the art detection technology, Multi-IQ. This is one of my favorite features on the Vanquish line of metal detectors. These metal detectors offer some amazing features, especially for the price point. Each detector in this line is easy enough for a new detectorist to use. The Vanquish 540 is easy to use for beginners but has enough features to make intermediate detectorists happy.When you open a box with Minelab Vanquish 540 metal detector, among others, you will see 4 NiMh batteries with a charging device for them. Since this is a metal detector of the beginner level, cheaper batteries are used. Other Minelab metal detectors – Equinox, CTX use Li-ion batteries. While the search coil is waterproof, the control box is only water resistant and should not be submerged. This model also has Bluetooth connectivity so wireless headphones can be used as well as wired headphones, or the external speaker. As more than one frequency is transmitted, received, and processed simultaneously, the detector can maintain target sensitivity across all target types and sizes while keeping ground noise to a minimum.
