I loved the friendships Sasha made with a few of Kirill's close guards. They accept her as is and never think low of her. (They all believe she is a man)Kirril with add an extra thump to your heart, and with Sasha you'll end up admiring her for her sheer determination/will power to prove that she belongs in this mans dominated sector.
His childhood, to say the least, wasn't good, and his current emotionless state is a result of his father's actions. He was mentally and physically tortured a lot to become a suitable heir for his father. 🙂 I must admit the writing style here is better when compared to most of RK books, and I love that for us. ✨ It's amazing how Rina Kent can make the most honourable and great characteristics seem insufferable😍 I didn't mention the side characters since they didn't make much of an impact on me, but they weren't boring, that's for sure. Okay I should probably stop referring to the heroine like she is a real person, I think I'm dissociating from reality
The book starts with wedding scene of Kirill and Kristina. After some manipulations Kirill get his dream of Pakhan and news of Sasha’s death. Kirill’s grief 🥺 over 2 months was just heartbreaking. This conclusion to 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐭'𝐬 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 was bittersweet for me! I 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘸 it had to end but I wasn’t ready to leave Kirill behind! He was absolutely amazing! And Sasha was one of my favorite fierce female leads too. Rina Kent's books happen in the same world, but with a slightly different timeline and therefore, many characters pop across different books. Are my eyes deceiving me? Is this written by Rina Kent? A slow burn??? I don’t think I’ve ever read a slow burn by her 😅😬. And the writing style had me questioning the name on the cover, but I decided to just trust the process. I mean, a Mulan retelling 😮💨- I was invested before I even started (I’ll never forgive Disney for not including my boo Captain Ali Shang in the live action!!! My teenage fantasies went down the drain 😑; I have yet to watch it 🤷🏻♀️). Now, I need to read more of these 👀.
Pls don't tell me she's supposed to find and exert revenge on her family's murderers with her feeble deductive skills. She barely manages to survive in the Russian army, which is not even her proper achievement. If it weren't for Kirill's soft-heartedness that takes pity on this poor, begging female creature at his feet... (or rather his subconsciousness, responsible for calculating how her female anatomy could be of use to him in the future.. my wild guess) we'd be reading about our girl in some criminal chronicles... 😏 Woman power at work, bitch. 👄 how JP Kirill gets. He almost blows a gasket when he finds out Sasha is hanging out with the men when she doesn’t need to. I luuurved it 😈. It led to the amazing sauna scene that I mentioned above I'm not exactly complaining: I just didn't feel any sparks flying between them neither before nor after that scene. Slow-burn is all dandy and cool when it has some proper buildup with a lot of tension-filled moments and chemistry involved, otherwise it's just smut put on hold till the last chapters. I really loved seeing the other sides of Kirill’s character. I went through so many emotions with him over this series but finally we got to witness his devastation of losing his wife. Of seeing how brilliant his mind was in strategizing what he wants his future to look like , was what kept me seeking to hear more of the story.the 🔥 talk. I was actually worried we wouldn’t see any. I mean, I was looking at the % and wondering if RK was going to make an appearance at some point, and boy, did she ever😉. Kirill came out swinging with the 🔥 talk 👀. but in conclusion, all she did was disobey, show attitude, and be irrational at the worst possible moments. I wish he punched her that one time, maybe she would have LEARNED. Her reflections on her past and the best moments of her life weren't all thrown aside in this book. She wasn't a grief-filled statue. It was heartbreaking when she recalled the best moments of her life, playing, dressing up, and laughing carelessly. I throw my hands in the air. “What’s so fun about growing up anyway? Besides, you’re grown up enough for the both of us.”

This is one, dark, twisty Mafia romance you do not want to miss! You will devour this trilogy and be left catching your breath and reflecting on the entire plot line. Bravo, 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐭! Bravo!
