About this deal

Both of these heaters run on electricity. While a halogen heater takes 1.2 kWh of electricity, a fan heater consumes 2 kWh. However, don’t go discounting this heater on wattage alone. The efficiency here is excellent, which should be great news to people looking to cut down on power wastage – whether for environmental or economic reasons. Its light weight, portability, and safety features are all strong benefits, too. Pros

A 2kW heater, only being used at half capacity (1kW on the thermostat) will use 13p per hour, but 26p per hour on its maximum 2kW setting. That’s why we won’t be recommending any storage heaters below. The best electric heating units (depending on your space and heat requirement) that are the cheapest to run and buy are convection, fan, and halogen. Another reason this heater is great for small areas is because it’s so compact. It can be stored in awkward areas very easily because the stand folds inwards. There’s also a small carry handle at the top which makes it easy to transport.

HOW THIS IS MONEY CAN HELP

Of the 55 products, we discovered that 44 were more expensive and 7 were cheaper than Beldray 1.2kW Halogen Heater. Prices from Beldray Doing so will reduce the kWh you use, but you still have the option of getting that heat boost by cranking it to the full 3kW output.

There is often a stigma towards heaters that don’t form part of a property’s inbuilt central heating system because they are seen as energy inefficient. However, they can be cost effective when used in the right place, time, and circumstances. There are no extra features such as a thermostat or timer, but this quartz heater is still both effective and efficient; the halogen tubes have a long lifespan of up to 8000 hours each. If you want an affordable but reliable option, the Daewoo Oscillating Halogen Heater is one of the best halogen heaters to buy on a budget. Not only does it run efficiently, it also has a low upfront cost. The belaco is yet another 1,200W halogen heater, with 3 customary heat settings: 400 W, 800 W, and 1,200 W.Chantel Scheepers replies: It seems you would need to invest in either new central heating or alternative in the near future, although the immediate need this Christmas is clearly a concern. So apparently, your halogen heater intakes less electrical power compared to a fan heater. But the difference is only 0.8 kWh. This means both the halogen heater and fan heater will cost you almost the same amount of electricity bill. 2. Heat: Marks & Spencer creates turkey roast for four with all the trimmings in gravy that can be cooked in just one hour The only downside to this heater, and this is the case with many halogen units, is that it’s very bright. If you’re using it in a dark room, you may find it too dazzling.
