About this deal

This arrangement, which originally arose out of necessity, has over time become an established practice and one of Iyanden's greatest strengths, allowing elements of the craftworld's Ghost Warrior host that are scattered across the battlefield to operate with a coordination that far outstrips that of the living. Both the Eldar standout special rules have been previewed on Warhammer Community, and both look decent. If the animating spirit specialised in fire support, the Ghost Warrior's energy core will instead be rerouted to power a devastating array of heavy weapons that sprout from its shoulders or are carried in its huge fists with all the ease that a Dire Avenger wields a Shuriken Catapult.

The most feared of all the Wraithguard are usually referred to as Wraithblades -- few Asuryani will speak their true name in the Aeldari Lexicon, Klaivaulch, for fear of inciting the wrath of Khaine. This union is not something that the Asuryani embrace. In fact, most believe it is an abhorrent act of necromancy and something to be used only when no other means of salvation presents itself. Suppressing Fire lets Swooping Hawks switch off enemy Overwatch and Actions, and against opponents who don’t have some sort of indirect to take them off the table can make them quite annoying. Wraithlords are lithe but mighty nobles that dwarf even their Wraithguard cousins. These statuesque robotic constructs are extremely precious to their craftworlds and, due to their wraithbone construction, have a supernatural toughness that surpasses even that of adamantium.Three disciplines of Psychic Powers available to Craftworld Psykers (in addition to those for the Ynnari and Harlequins). The Spiritseer was mainly done with these colours too, but I spent more time giving him a few coats of highlights and shading, given that he’s a character. The addition of metallic colours and the white helm help him to stand out as the only living soul amongst an army of the dead. Craftworlds have great units, but they’re expensive and awkward to get into lists. Most notably, the move of Dire Avengers from Troops to Elites is absolutely brutal to army construction – they’re now powerful enough that you’d be very happy filling a Battalion with them, and you want some in most builds, but making that work is now a challenge. This makes using a Harlequin Patrol as your Warlord detachment (plus to bring some good RND units) alongside an Asuryani Vanguard a genuine consideration, and other lists we’ve tried have ended up with pure Outriders. Stash hits or wounds if you’re about to go big with an “exploding” or mortals on 6s effect, or shoot Fire Prisms.

The predominant type of Ghost Warrior in use among the craftworlds is the Wraithguard. These giant robotic warriors are shaped from the immensely resilient substance known as wraithbone, and tower above the Spiritseers that accompany them upon the battlefield. I am an extremely non-technical painter. I don’t often view hobby videos to improve my painting methods and I’ve never attended a seminar or anything like that. As a result I’ve developed my style over 20+ years of seeing things, experimenting, and slowly developing schemes over generations of new models… and I mean new in the sense that I bought fresh models because LOL the Craftworld range. This stubborn and pointless refusal to improve myself in an easy manner is also why I have never touched an airbrush – which makes the vehicle heavy Craftworld army a true nightmare when you really think about it. Boon’s Eldar Eternal Labyrinth Enchantment Many sought the Goddess' blessing. Few survived the Labyrinth to receive it. On top of that, you’ll get all you need to run more diverse armies than ever before, with combined hosts of Asuryani, Ynnari, and Harlequins. The Aeldari have always been a multifaceted race, but now they’re bringing their full strength to bear and you can demonstrate that on the tabletop like never before. Toughness (this is HUGE. The difference between t7 and t8 is MASSIVE — all str 4 weapons are now doing half as much damage. 25% damage from str 8 weapons like melta and OC plasma)The creation of a Wraithlord involves empowering an Asuryani Spirit Stone with the soul of a dead Craftworld Aeldari warrior from the Infinity Circuit of their craftworld. The soul is then placed into the forehead of a Wraithlord construct.

I’m surprised it’s taken people this long to catch on. My friend ran an all-Wraithlord army (before the rule of 3), and it was hell to play against. Unless you specifically built to counter it, it would just destroy most “all-comers” lists. The other big (literally) splashy toy here is the Avatar, who certainly looks at least interesting thanks to the Webway gate existing. He’s expensive, but hugely resilient to big shots, and can be buffed to the gills with Farseer powers. Being able to place a Webway gate and then pull the Avatar with Phantasm when needed (i.e. against Tau) puts him in an interesting spot where it’s probably overpriced, but lists that can work with him might exist. If the stone can be recovered, it is then customary for it to be taken into one of the craftworld's bio-domes, where the soul is released into the Infinity Circuit -- the Asuryani's source of eldritch psychic energy, a place of rest, and sanctuary from the Warp. The over-sized weapons of the Wraithguard allow each of them to focus a portion of their psychic power upon a fixed target. The arcane beams of these weapons open a localised rift between Warpspace and the material universe for a fraction of a second. Boon: It’s very good. Probably the biggest struggle Craftworlds will have in this extremely deadly meta is simply staying on the board – the Wave Serpent provides a huge boost there in terms of durability. The question a lot of players will need to ask themselves is how much they are willing to pay for this durability and what tradeoffs will they make. It’s not an easy answer given the relatively low output for the price. A Dark Enemy (232.M41) - In the aftermath of a battle on Cullrak, in which the Asuryani of Mymeara successfully fight off a daemonic incursion, a huge raiding party from the Drukhari Kabal of the Fiend Ascendant threatens a clutch of the Asuryani's Spirit Stones. It is greatly feared that the Kabal will retreat to Commorragh and debase the souls of Mymeara's dead. With their numbers already considerably depleted from the previous battle, the Asuryani of Mymeara have little choice but to command their Spiritseers to unleash the Ghost Warriors in their defence. The wraith-constructs launch one of the most vengeful strikes in the craftworld's history and numerous Kabalite Warriors and their Raiders are incinerated by searing Wraithknight plasma blasts.
