About this deal

Red: Softer General Blade. Suggested mesh count is 15T- 77T. Ideal for textile printing and high opaque designs and some general fine lines and detail. Suitable for Plastisol and Water Based inks. If you’re not sure what size you need, the best solution is to buy one with an adjustable handle so you can set the length to fit you. Squeegee Head Material If you’re needing it to clean windows or glass then a soft, scratch-free foam head is ideal. An extendable handle as well will help reach up into those corners. For more hard-wearing surfaces (like concrete) you’ll want to consider a rubber floor squeegee as these tend to be a bit more hard-wearing. The Chemical Hut has produced this heavy duty squeegee and it should handle tougher surfaces without any complaints.

The negatives are something which we have had to learn over time. Our main criticism revolves around the squeegee blade. Firstly the blade which comes with the squeegee handle is too soft so immediately you need to change that out. Secondly the blade is designed to hang slightly over each edge of the handle, as the original blade is too soft, this creates a dragging defect on each side of your screen. Before we get into the details, I want to point out that there is no right or wrong squeegee and these results are purely based on the experience we have with each squeegee handle over a long period of time. Each handle is scored using the same criteria; The metal handle squeegee is number 1 for a reason! So much so that we are currently in the process of exchanging (nearly) all of our squeegees over to the metal ergonomic handles. The badass squeegee is one of the first ergonomic squeegee handles that we could get our hands on. It has 2 handles that are created to relieve pressure off the printers wrists while still giving a solid and even print.

If you’re looking for a multi-purpose tool that does both mopping and squeegeeing then the Oxo Floor Mop is the perfect choice. We have been screen printing t-shirts by hand for nearly a decade now. It’s about time we gave you our opinion on some of the most common squeegee handles on the market. Best for Textile Printing – We recommend 65 Red if printing onto dark garments. We recommend 75 Green for printing onto light garments and for general purpose printing. Green: Medium Blade. Suggested mesh count is 43T-77T. Ideal for textile and other substrate printing, finer detailed artwork. Suitable for Plastisol and Water Based inks. The sponge head folds up and sits on elevated feet for storage so it won’t stay damp and end up mouldy.

The floor squeegee handle is made from a tough alloy and feels substantial to hold. It is very durable but only if used correctly. If it’s concrete or paving slabs then a heavy-duty rubber is required to ensure the head doesn’t wear away after a few uses. Cost Being a mop design, it doesn’t squeegee the floor completely dry like the other models listed here, however you will end up with a sparkling clean floor.Green: Medium Hard Blade. Suggested mesh count is 77T plus. Ideal for textile and other substrate printing, finer detailed artwork and harsh solvent based inks. Suitable for Plastisol, Water Based, Paper & Board / Vinyl’s / Solvent Inks. Ideal for smoother surfaces. The negatives are minimal but if we must think of something that annoys us about this squeegee it would be the noise it makes during a print run. I can’t put this into words so please watch our YouTube video where we will demonstrate this little irritant in full.
