About this deal

Wales is part of the United Kingdom, where they are represented in the House of Commons, UK’s lower house, with 40 members of the parliament. Spanning Wales’ short but scenic north coast, this route offers road trippers a chance to encounter Welsh history, language and culture in a spectacular setting. Wales is regarded as the land of castles with the country having the most number of castles per square mile versus anywhere else in the world.

One of the reasons we love Wales so much is all the outdoor activities it offers. For that reason, we recommend visiting Wales anytime between Easter and mid-October, to really take advantage of the highlights. This route covers the entire length of Cardigan Bay – the sweeping curve of Irish Sea that looks like it’s taken a huge bite out of the Welsh west coast – and spoils travelers with its secluded beaches and charming seaside towns. Definitely put in a stop at the small town of Rhossili, where you can rent a surfboard at PJ’s Surfshop and also enjoy delicious fish and chips at the ‘The King’s Head’ pub. Pen-Y-Fan- the highest peak in South Wales (on the road from Merthyr Tydfil to Brecon) Try a Beacons Horseshoe ridge walk which will take you up to the summit of Pen Y Fan- a popular spot with 360-degree views on the Cwm Llwch valley. This 3 to 4 hours walk is the perfect way to experience the true beauty of the Beacons. South Wales is a beautiful collaboration of coastal and city living, comprising of the capital of Wales, Cardiff, the city of Swansea, and the stunning Gower Peninsula as well as the southern area of the Brecon Beacons which extend into the region. The cities in this region mean that you are able to explore the rich history of the area, as well as the shopping and night life or explore the slower pace of locations such as Cardiff Bay. Further south, the Gower Peninsula is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a haven for wildlife. It is also home to one of the most beautiful beaches in the UK, Rhosilli Bay, which is often referred to as one of Europe’s best beaches. During your holiday in South Wales, also visit Mumbles and the Wye Valley (below).Head west through the uncrowded Clwydian Hills – stopping to summit Moel Famau (1820ft) on the way for epic views of Snowdonia and the North Wales Coast – until you reach Ruthin, a little town brimming with history (exemplified by its restored castle, century-spanning museum and Victorian Ruthin Gaol). No- there’s a suspension bridge (the Menai bridge – although sometimes called the Telford Bridge by locals), and it’s free to cross.
