For this set, we wanted to create slightly androgynous portraits with a fashion feel. Elegant yet strong. Beautiful and fun… iii. Nails should be neat and manicured to your own personal taste and eyebrows should be shaped to reflect the style of your video. Did you know I secretly do a little happy dance inside when my clients tell me they want to go nude during their photo shoot? There’s nothing quite like losing the lingerie and shedding layers (figuratively and literally) during your session. Baring it all and celebrating your curves, your cellulite, your love handles, your rib cage, your stretch marks….this is what the boudoir experience is all about. Boudoir photography is a trend that has grown to be quite popular in recent years. But the style itself has been around since the 1940s. This photography niche uses varying degrees of posing, composition, and lighting patterns. Want a jolt of irrepressible confidence and a lightning bolt of sensual prowess that will blow your hubby away or make your ex drool?

Each shoot is a celebratory custom-designed experience, with memories that will last you a lifetime. Before we start shooting with a client we prepare her physically, mentally, and emotionally. This is important so that we can create the best images from her sessions. As a photographer, I will also work hard to make sure my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera. History of Nude Photography I tried recreating this one from several different angles—none of them quite right. Still, the inspiration is clearly there, and my butt looks like the peach emoji. (Which, like, what more can you ask for?) In the end, I learned that taking a nude can be as simple as snapping a mirror selfie and moving on with my life. But getting creative with it can be a whole lotta fun. I took my nudes at night, so natural light wasn't an option. (I compromised and positioned myself near some not-so-natural light sources—namely, lamps. This mostly sufficed.) I also failed to clean my room before the shoot, which is downright embarrassing. I am adult enough to understand the import of a clean living space, and I'm also adult enough to understand that a vacuum cleaner does not add value to any nude photo. Apparently, though, I'm not adult enough to act on either of these notions. I recently had the total pleasure of doing a photo shoot for Laura Corn, sex expert, radio personality and author of nine best-selling books on sex, love and intimacy. We were shooting for her latest venture, her new mobile app, 101 Nights – launching soon. I took this opportunity to interview her on her books, her best tips for feeling & getting sexy, and how she got interested in writing about sex in the first place…

First, I met with three boudoir photographers to learn the “rules” of boudoir.

Use props that belong to the groom. This will show that although this session is about the bride, the groom is still in her mind. But you can best capture the intimacy by including the groom.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day… In a particularly fine art boudoir session, the clients are photographed in and made to do unusual poses under unconventional lighting inside the studio. Standard boudoir shoots involve about an hour of Victoria’s Secret-inspired hair and makeup. This gives clients a second to get in the zone before, you know, taking their clothes off. And the photographers suggested I incorporate something similar— hair and makeup, sexy music, a glass (or two) of wine—into my own nude selfie shoots. I don't have much of a problem being naked around people (just ask my poor, poor roommates), but even I thought this period of mental preparation sounded like a good idea.

Please note that studio lights and camera lens’s make makeup appear a lot lighter and have less impact than in real life, therefore our stylist may apply your make-up slightly heavier than you would probably usually wear yours to ensure it has the maximum impact in your video. For the ultimate glamorous look during your shoot, we tend to recommend styling your hair down, either straight and sleek or with lots of volume and curly, as this allows a little bit more freedom during the shoots and ultimately looks a lot more glamorous. However, if you would like your hair styled differently, please inform our stylist who will be happy to style your hair as required. i. We recommend moisturising your skin regularly in the run-up to the day, as well as applying a light moisturiser on the morning of your shoot. As you will have a lot of skin on show, hair removal (if desired) is important too but we recommend getting this done a couple of days before, or on the morning if this works for you. Nude photography sessions capture the aesthetics and form of the human body. It also emphasizes light, composition, and texture. In a typical fine art nude photography session, the model is photographed and guided through poses. They were both, influenced by many great icons, from the prewar period to today, as well as French and International fashion and perfume designers.
