About this deal

Repeat the process 1 or 2 times being careful not to overstretch the bowler, being aware of the safe bowling directive as laid out by the ECB.

Batting – the best average, from the top 10 run scorers in the age group. Anyone without an average due to not being out, will be considered to have been out once; Each club is responsible for appointing a competent scorer and umpire for each match, with any regular persons having received some form of training to enable them to carry out their duties effectively. The bowler should feel the difference in pace they can bring the ball through their action and over time this will become faster, without any adverse effect on the accuracy.Match cancellations are for weather/pitch reasons only and should be communicated to the opposition in sufficient time to prevent travel where possible. Junior Cup fixtures lost for such reason must be rearranged within the play-by date. Batsman are to retire and may not return when they have reached the run limit applicable to relevant age group. If the last scoring stroke takes a batsman past any stated retirement mark the extra runs are to be credited. Players and team officials must at all times accept the umpire’s decision. Players must not show dissent at the umpire’s decision or react in a provocative or disapproving manner towards another player or spectator. No lbw’s. Double bounce no balls, above waist no balls and wides count as 1 extra run. No player may be dismissed bowled by a delivery that bounces more than once. In the u13, u15 and u18 Junior Cup the rules shall be as for the Junior League, except that there shall be no retirements and in the event of a tie the team managers shall agree upon the method for determining a result, choosing from a super-over, a bowl-out or a replay (a replay only being possible if there is sufficient time to complete the replay by the play-by date). In the event that a scheduled replay cannot be fulfilled due to weather then the result shall be determined by a bowl-out or toss of a coin, as agreed by the team managers.

Juniors may play in other clubs’ Senior sides to aid their development but may only play in one club’s Senior sides in any given season unless taking advantage of the loan system rules where the emphasis is on a short-handed team being able to put a full team out by loaning players from other clubs - see Senior Rules for this system. It will be assumed that in events of this nature senior sections will have followed the senior rules procedures associated with the loaning of players. For under 11s, 13s and 15s the Junior Cup Semi Finals and Finals will be played on a Finals Day. For the under 18s the Semi Finals and Finals shall be played on separate days. The GMCL will provide umpires for these matches.Junior Players who play in GMCL and other leagues can only play for the inter-league side in which their Senior First XI play.
