About this deal

You will have abundant opportunities to show children the joy of SPAG and apply their phonic understanding too, though The Curious Quests does not tell you what to teach and when - that is down to you and your knowledge of your children and the curriculum. The Curious Quests, just like Drawing Club is more like an open-ended landscape to adventure in. What Fans Are Saying Karen, you are absolutely fabulous! You make me feel like I can draw anything. I have recently retired and finally have the time to do some of the art that I have loved since I was in school. I am really at the beginning of my art journey and I hope to learn as much as I can. Thank you for all you do.

Cash - You are welcome to pay cash, just come and see us at our office: City Academy, 38 Rosebery Avenue, London, EC1R 4RNIdeal for Reception, KS1 and into KS2, the concept of Play Projects is firmly rooted in the belief that children are creative, collaborative and can lead their own learning trajectory. If you work in a school where your own team or leadership see play like something out of a Breughel painting, then Play Projects might just be the approach you are looking for! Drawing comes naturally to young children, and is fundamental to their learning, growth, and understanding of the world around them. The Drawing Clubs help children retain and develop these drawing abilities and sustain their enthusiasm for self-expression within an artist-led environment. The Dinner Party Provision approach is a way of deciding on what should be in your continuous provision and why - you can apply it to inside and outside environments. Nothing escapes Dinner Party Provision and it is a great way to immerse your team into the purpose of what they are making available and how co-play can work so brilliantly if the environment has brought the right 'gifts' to the party! Drawing Club can be truly transformative both within your Reception practice and as a bridge into KS1 - its magic is extraordinary because Drawing Club is an adventure into the world of story itself.

The Message Centre is all about messaging! It develops a sense of purpose and magic into the children’s mark making. To go on the Curious Quests with your children you must have a full understanding of Drawing Club. If you don't know how to use it then you need to do an online session on that first. The Curious Quests session and resources will not make sense without the context of Drawing Club and the online session will assume that you are familiar with its 4 Mini Moments. The Curious Quests is an immersive adventure into story, poetry, make-believe and giving children a childhood that brims with endless possibilities to invent, imagine and story dream. This is always a great stimulus for artwork. Choose a country to research and look at the types and styles of art produced there; the children could be involved in this. Ask them to come up with the country’s traditional art.

In this book, Greg Bottrill explores how he ensures that, in his Early Years setting, continuous provision enables children. He shares his Early Years pedagogy through the ′3Ms′ and explains how to apply these in the classroom. Greg also explores the definition of play – what it is and what it isn’t – and the challenging role of the Early Years teacher. If you are looking to show children the magic world of story, if you want to discover a way of sharing skills including fine motor, maths, early writing and vocabulary and if you believe that young children deserve a book-snuggle within their day, then Drawing Club is for you!

The Curious Quests combines short carpet sessions, group work and children exploring open-ended resources such as junk modelling, construction, playdough, role play and if possible, being outside. If you don't have 'continuous provision' like this then you can't go on the The Curious Quests. Don’t worry if you miss a week, as you haven’t missed a vital part of the course. Art Club lets you explore and develop at your own pace. Art Club Content

About this event

During this informal chat, we learn more about Greg as a person, his passion and advocacy for children shining through and he provides his thoughts on how children can be supported by play and child-led activities, how we can start the conversations with children to learn about any anxieties they may have and help them by listening. Children love to create characters or draw pictures for stories. Make simple folded-paper comic books, or use this Kapow art lesson, which shows you how to make concertina books . Children can illustrate a story of their own or one they already know. Discover just what it is that children need from education and why it’s so important for Early Years practice to echo upwards throughout their school journey. You can experiment with a range of different mediums from pencil to acrylic paints. Focus on one specific medium over several weeks, or try something new each session.
