About this deal

PLAYSTATION - Connect the wireless USB receiver to any USB (type-A) port on your PS5 or PS4 console. Use the PlayStation settings menu to set "Output to Headphones" to "All Audio" and adjust volume control (Headphones) to maximum level. Then adjust volume with the headset volume control. iCUE Flip-up microphone to mute. Flip-down microphone to unmute. Alternatively, you can use the mute button on the headset. With it comes an eye-catching silver and white colourway, some plush memory foam padding, and 50mm drivers that should offer some decent all-round audio on a vast range of devices – from your PS5 to a Nintendo Switch and PC.

Now onto the audio, and the HS55 isn't quite as impressive in audio output as it is in mic input. It's not like the HS55 sounds bad. It absolutely doesn't. But it does have that definite twinge of cheaper driver sound that is a little too sharp in the higher frequencies. The Corsair HS55 Wireless Core offers — or, tries to offer — a lot for a relatively low price. This wireless, over-ear gaming headset is one of a few that features dual-mode wireless connectivity, meaning it lets you connect to two devices (using 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.2) simultaneously. Note though, that it does not support simultaneous listening from both sources the way the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro does. Regardless, this is a feature we don’t often see in less-expensive headsets.

Corsair's budget hero goes wire-free.

So lets start with how it performed to me. Mainly in game I like sound a bit more with mids and highs than bass. I used hyperx cloud core before in some story games the dialogue volume appeared a bit low. But it has the perfect blance in audio frequency mainly for games. The range is impressive. You can walk up to 15 meters away, which means you won’t need to take your headset off when you walk into a nearby room and miss out on what your party is saying. Walls can still be an issue, so moving much more than one room away caused it to break up a bit — but you have more freedom to move, which is nice.

The sound quality is good overall, though not quite as rich and as full as we hoped. At default, there’s plenty of bass here, though perhaps not enough low bass extension to deliver that rumble you want from games and movies. There’s decent high end as well, but it’s a little rolled off so it doesn’t sound as crisp and detailed. The mid-range sounds a little recessed, particularly affecting the dialogue, which isn’t as crisp and clear. While you can still hear what the characters are saying, it sounds a little hollow. The Corsair HS55 Stereo is the American brand’s latest excursion into the world of affordable gaming headsets. Validity : Extended Warranty will start after the Brand warranty ends & continues for 1 year/ 2 years as per plan. What's covered : The plan covers all defects & electric malfunctions as covered under the original Brand warranty.

The performance of video conferencing and voice chat using apps like Discord, Zoom, Teams, or Facetime is outstanding, and while Corsair isn’t promoting the HS55 Stereo as a video conferencing solution, colleagues and friends will hear you loud and clear. The software’s built-in documentation explains how to use the headset’s features in greater detail. Unlike the H65, the HS55 Wireless also doesn’t have app support. We tried to use it with the Corsair iCue software, and all it allowed us to do was link it with the 2.4GHz wireless transmitter, which was moot as they’re already linked. This means that you won’t be getting proper EQ privileges here.Did you experience one or more of the following sound issues after installing the most recent iCUE software update?
