About this deal

The new satellite will join other optical and radar remote sensing satellites in the Gaofen series which together form the China High-resolution Earth Observation System (CHEOS). The first CHEOS satellite, Gaofen 1, was launched in 2013. Little is known about newer, higher numbered Gaofen satellites like Gaofen 11, which may have very high-resolution optical imagers.

Gaofen-2 is a follow-on mission of the Gaofen-1technology demonstration mission, a series of high-resolution optical Earth observation satellites of CNSA (China National Space Administration), Beijing, China. GF-2 is part of the CHEOS (China High Resolution Earth Observation System) family with the objective to provide high accuracy geographical mapping, land and resource surveying, environment change monitoring, near realtime observation for disaster prevention and mitigation, as well as for agriculture and forest estimation. 1) In 2010, the Chinese government approved to implement CHEOS (China High-resolution Earth Observation System), which is an extension of the HDEOS program. The CHEOS series would consist of seven optical/microwave satellites. EOSDC-CNSA (Earth Observation System and Data Center - China National Space Administration) is responsible for organizing the construction of the CHEOS program. The CHEOS program comprises the elements of the spaceborne system, the near-space system, aerial system, the ground system and application system as a whole to realize Earth observation at high temporal, spatial and spectral resolution. The constellation may be utilised in Chinese president Xi Jinping’s ‘One belt one road’ regional development project. TCS (Thermal Control Subsystem): The TCS employs mainly passive thermal control methods (such as heat insulation, scatter heat, isothermal), aided with active thermal control methods. On March 6, 2015, the Gaofen-2 spacecraft was declared operational. The services provided by the satellite will help boost development of the country's data application and spatial information sectors, said Xu Dazhe, head of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. 12)RF communications: the spacecraft features an S-band TT&C subsystem and an X-band data transmission subsystem. The Pan imagery is compressed by a JPEG 3:1 algorithm, while the 8 m and 16 m MS data are compressed with a lossless algorithm to ensure image quality. Designed and developed by CAST, Gaofen-2 employs the long life CAST-CS-L3000A bus with breakthrough technologies including fast roll and high stable attitude control, long focal length and lightweight camera design to enhance the satellite’s performance and reliability. The GF-2 spacecraft and its payload are fully operational in October 2016. GF-2 is configured with two identical cameras with 0.8m Pan(Panchromatic)/3.2 m MS (Multispectral) GSD (Ground Sample Distance) and a swath width of 45 km. The camera, with a TMA (Three Mirror Anastigmatic) optical system in pushbroom mode, is the first one in China designed with small relative aperture equal 1/15, which leads to relatively low mass and small volume of the whole system compared to the traditional design. 3) Construct an advanced earth observation system with high spatial, spectral and radiometric resolution Orbit: Sun-synchronous near-circular orbit, altitude = 631 km, inclination = 97.9º, LTDN = 10:30 hours, period = 97.26 minutes.

Regional dialects and colloquialisms can also influence the use of chaos and cheos. In some areas, one term may be more commonly used than the other, or they may be used interchangeably. For example, in certain parts of the United States, chaos may be used to describe a messy or disorganized situation, while cheos is not commonly used at all. 3. Creative WritingAugust 2015: The GF-1 spacecraft and its payload are operating nominally after more than 2 years on orbit. GF-1 has served a wide range of applications covering many topics. The typical applications with high resolution and wide swath satellite data include: 11)

Clinical outcomes in kidney transplant patients; Access to kidney transplantation; Living donor transplantation; Cardiovascular risk in transplant patients December 30, 2013: Gaofen-1, China's high-definition Earth observation satellite, has been formally put into service, as reported by SASTIND (State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense). 15) 16) 17) The observation capabilities of previous Chinese environmental observation satellites were not as comprehensive as the Gaofen-5's. The Gaofen-5 has more sensors, especially those monitoring the air," Li said, who is enthusiastic about Gaofen-5's potential to monitor greenhouse gases, contaminated gases and harmful particles that cause smog. "Gaofen-5 proves the technology has matured. Loaded with multiple hyper-spectral sensors, the technology can now monitor the atmosphere, water and Earth's surface," Li said.Launch: The GF-2 spacecraft was launched on August 19, 2014 (03:15 UTC) with a CZ-4B (Long March-4B) vehicle from TSLC (Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center) in the Shanxi Province of northern China.
