Leesil, excellent question – and one that doesn’t have a concrete answer. Like so many things in modern Pagan beliefs, the answer is “Ehhh, depends…” Each month features beautiful, original art by award-winning illustrator Jennifer Hewitson as well as an inspiring article and spell or ritual that explores: Pagan holidays consist of celebrating and honoring the seasons of Nature wherever we live. I typically focus on the spiritual intentions of the Pagan Holiday and modernize it to fit into my spiritual practices today (this is sometimes referred to as Pagan reconstructionism). Suggested Celebration Timing: Observe early that day between 2:36 am when the moon enters Leo until exact conjunction at 1:55 pm. Ritual Function: Balance elemental earth energy, and shadow work for the virtues and vices of Capricorn. So what I’d suggest is this: think about what the climate and agricultural conditions are where you live. Is it harvest season, or are you in the southern hemisphere, where it’s cold and chilly during August? Is it hot and muggy? Wet and soggy? Dry and arid? Figure that out, and you should be able to figure out what’s most appropriate for you.
