The story in this novel spans many years and it's actually a rather slow paced book which takes its time developing the characters. And THAT is precisely what I crave in my reads. That as well as a good amount of suspense to keep me interested and a healthy dose of naughty foreplay. Well, this book has all that and more. Ash's values and leadership were shining gold in the end. These were the things that mattered. These qualities that changed the world and made it a more peaceful and better place...His past, even fated mistakes caused pain to those he loved; but in the long run...the world was a better place for the rule of this "King" The King himself, Maxen Ashley Colchester, is larger than life. his control and sovereignty absolute and it's an honour to kneel for him, beside him, in between his legs. He has constitution of a natural Leader, his soul brave as a soldier and his Heart as big as the mountains . I gave myself a pep talk regarding the menage issue prior to starting this series but I still found myself not liking it due to the jealousy issue between the men here. I mean, they actually had a relationship on their own and even that felt like it was too much one on one to allow for a cohesive relationship between the trio. This book definitely had a lot of steam but somehow it never felt overdone because the connection that's been built over the last 15-20 years is so strong that every scene these characters have together has meaning.
