On the eigth day of the Cornwall road trip, you will pass through Post Isaac and end the day in Tintagel. Port Isaac Throughout the summer of 2021, we have hosted volunteer events to assist with our archaeological investigations in targeted areas.

Take the coast road from Land’s End past the glorious Sennen Cove, a great spot for a dip or a spot of bodyboarding as you head north to St Just, where you’ll be well into Poldark country!

Mullion - The largest village on The Lizard in Cornwall, Mullion is located in an area of beautiful coastline. Mullion Map. Penzance - Shown on the bottom left of the this Cornwall map, Penzance is a town and port on Mount's Bay in the extreme south-west of the county. Book a boat trip or sea safari at the harbor to try your hand at sea fishing, or if you want to explore the coastal caves and hidden caves, and see the local wildlife, like dolphins and seals. Following the weekend road closure between Chiverton and Boxheater, the A30 will be closed overnight every night, 8pm until 6am, from Monday 17 to Friday 21 July between the new Chiverton interchange and Carland Cross.

Truro - Britain's most southerly city, Truro developed as the centre of Cornwall's mining industry. Truro Map. Art lovers can delight in St Ives’ art galleries, including the Tate St. Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden and Museum, in the sculptor’s former studio. These galleries showcase the work of some of the most renowned artists of the 1900s. Another notable gallery worth visiting is the Penwith Gallery hosting contemporary and historical exhibitions. We want to be part of our local community and to play a full and active part. Our community relations team engage with local schools, colleges and other educational establishments. We also engage with local community groups and anyone who has an interest in the project should get in touch with us. Whether you’redriving Cornwall in acar orcamper or riding a motorbike, ensure you’ve got all your documents handy and your spare tire is in good condition. If your Cornwall road trip itinerary is longer than a few weeks, you may want to consider a vehicle service before you go, and breakdown cover is probably a good idea.

The A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross upgrade will reduce congestion, improve journey times and provide much-needed connection for local businesses. Following the weekend, traffic will use a new layout at Chiverton. The new layout will keep access open to the A390, A3075 and B3277 while we continue our work this year.
