The flame tamers underneath the grill helped to impart that smoky taste you expect from a BBQ. It does this by vaporising any natural food juices that fall on it, basting the food in smoke as it rises. The four burners meant I could control the temperature when cooking so the sausages were nice and succulent. Side burner– This model has an additional side burner with a hinged lid that can be used as an additional serving space. The Meteor 4 features a built-in thermometer for perfect cooking and baking results every time. The grill plates are also porcelain enamelled for hard wearing durability and easier grilling. The cooking area measures a very generous 64 x 42cm, made up of high quality grills. To the left of the BBQ is a side side burner which is ideal for cooking accompanying foods, to the right is a side shelf for preparation.

Large cooking area– A perfect family size, the capacious cooking area gives great cooking versatility. I did enjoy having the flexibility to use the BBQ for gas and charcoal cooking. However, I found it is best suited for a gas BBQ-er who occasionally likes to dabble in charcoal. It gets the job done with charcoal, but you lose half of the direct cooking area and it’s quite fiddly.

On the top of the four main burners, the Meteor has a side burner which can be used for cooking sauces or frying in a pan or for searing steaks and other meats for a perfect restaurant finish.

Four stainless steel burners– More burners means more control over cooking temperature, allowing you to have lots of food on the go at once. This Meteor 4 burner BBQ has been designed with 4 high-quality stainless steel burners, which can be instantly lit using the electronic ignition system and adjusted independently to give you full control. A favourite choice of bottle size, the 5kg patio bottle is easier to handle and is ideal for smaller families and gatherings or infrequent use. It works perfectly with the included regulator, allowing you to connect and disconnect the bottle in seconds, keeping you safe, and minimising any waste of gas. The compact size means it will fit next to or within all barbecues, and it has a weight of around 16kg when full. Interchangeable plates–Cook all kinds of food to perfection thanks to the three different plates you can use for differing results. Porcelain-coated grill– This full grill spans all the way across, giving you plenty of room to cook. The porcelain protects the cast iron from rust so you won’t need to season/cure the metal, and it makes clean-up easier.The four cast iron burners with individual control give superb cooking results over the two surfaces – one side features a cast iron grill while the other has an additional cast iron grill with a Multi Cook section for you to swap out cooking surfaces, making this a truly versatile barbecue.
