About this deal

I'm a little angry once I'm done with this book. Mostly confused, but partially angry. This series is one giant puzzle I'm dying to solve and I'm nowhere near of figuring out the answers. I can hear myself asking "But why?" every five minutes. It's like a broken record playing in my head. As the two sort through these difficult matters while simultaneously trying to sort through their feelings for one another, things become a bit clearer as to what their futures hold. We do get some answers which in turn, opened other multiple cans of worms. 1 answer = 3 more questions = another unsolved mystery. Ken Follett is one of the world’s most successful authors. Over 170 million copies of the 36 books he has written have been sold in over 80 countries and in 33 languages.

I must say... even though I've had many issues with Hoover's books in the past, she and Tarryn Fisher have weaved one hell of a compelling tale here. Ken’s new book, The Evening and the Morning, will be published in September 2020. It is a prequel to The Pillars of the Earth and is set around the year 1,000, when Kingsbridge was an Anglo-Saxon settlement threatened by Viking invaders. This is my sixth novel by Follett and once again I was captivated by his storytelling, terrified by the “what if” and in love with his vast host of characters.

My favorite of this novella is of course, Silas's POV. I love him. I love every moment I'm in his head like seriously, the humor and the sexiness combined into one. *swoons The build up of characters from all sides is very clever, we get to know all the major players; the spies, undercover operatives, families of these and the cultures. It seems the older generations of the enemy are stubborn and tied to their country first and foremost, in a warped way even against their family. This is super flat in spots, with Harry’s attitude being the only saving grace. The investigation into the missing miners is all-around boring and seemed to require a lot of filler scenes. So while it is a typical fast James Patterson read in terms of length and chapter size, the scene quality was pretty bland, creating a sedate pace.Update 2016: I'm not going to change my rating because I did enjoy this book, but I just want to issue a warning that I was so so disappointed with the ending of this series: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... We are obviously set up and manipulated. It's not subtle at all. I didn't believe many aspects of this novel, the characterizations were either cliche or unconvincing, the descriptions were dismal and the whole thing just felt unpolished and hurried. And hey, it's only #1 in the series ... Charlie Wynwood and Silas Nash have been best friends since they could walk. They've been in love since the age of fourteen. But as of this morning...they are complete strangers. Their first kiss, their first fight, the moment they fell in love...every memory has vanished. Now Charlie and Silas must work together to uncover the truth about what happened to them and why. When I first heard about a book written by Colleen and Tarryn together I thought: “That has to be the stupidest idea ever.” Il problema è dovuto agli ENORMI buchi di trama e non sto parlando di piccoli dettagli ma di parti importanti.

La historia da un giro y se convierte de pronto en una carrera contrarreloj para evitar una guerra nuclear. Have you read any books by Ken Follett? I’m discovering his books late with this being my first, but I have a few on my TBR. After their successful work together in a BookShot, Patterson and Fox combine their talents to expand on that short story, penning a great full-length novel. This is another collaborative team that has been highly successful, especially since each author has stunning independent abilities. Fox brings some great ideas and writing to this piece, which had me gladly returning for a re-read years later! Detective Harriet “Harry” Blue has a more uniquely drawn personality; something fun and feisty, independent and purely reactionary, at times, which lends some emotion to her scenes. Harry, from Sex Crimes, has a bit of a Debra Morgan from Dexter vibe to her which works for me – both non-sexually and sexually. We begin to see this book turn into more of a mystery/thriller in Part 2. Charlie is not only missing after a night out with Silas at the end of Part 1, but the chapters narrated by her are chilling as they depict her in an institutional setting, being fed unknown medications by a nurse of few words. Then when bodies were found, and the killer ramped up the campaign, Harry and Whitt knew that they had to force the issue – but could they? The dangers intensified, the killer’s targets seemed random. Harry was determined to find the perpetrator – she would get the killer or she would die trying… Seconda parte: Continuavo a ripetere di continuo nella mia mente “bello, originale, intrigante, scioccante, sto leggendo una genialata.”

Of note, most of this article was written by my friend and freelance writer, a spicy romance reader, and edited by me. Both of us are big Colleen Hoover fans!)

Connect To The Books You Love Most

Connections were made. Jihadist terrorists in the Chad desert enslaved people to work at their gold camp. They smuggled gold and drugs to finance their struggle and obtain arms, mainly supplied from North Korea. Minor skirmishes and battles in remote regions led to involvement by North and South Koreas, Japan, and finally, China and the USA, escalating the situation to the distinct possibility of a nuclear war.
