About this deal

Overall, the build itself is impressively diverse for a set with identical sections. It also has a great design despite not being really accurate. Honestly, when you take out the smaller size and the less diverse minifigure selection, I would definitely recommend this set more than the previous version. On 9th November 2021 LEGO revealed their next instalment into the Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series in the form of a giant AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport). The set has a total of 6,785 pieces which firmly puts it very near the top of the biggest LEGO set list.

Death Star Troopers | 75035 Kashyyyk Troopers | 75036 Utapau Troopers | 75037 Battle on Saleucami | 75038 Jedi Interceptor | 75039 V-Wing Starfighter | 75040 General Grievous' Wheel Bike | 75041 Vulture Droid | 75042 Droid Gunship | 75043 AT-AP | 75044 Droid Tri-Fighter | 75045 Republic AV-7 Anti-Vehicle Cannon | 75046 Coruscant Police Gunship | 75048 The Phantom | 75049 Snowspeeder | 75050 B-Wing | 75051 Jedi Scout Fighter | 75052 Mos Eisley Cantina | 75053 The Ghost | 75054 AT-AT | 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer | 75056 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar | 75058 MTT | 75059 Sandcrawler | 75060 UCS Slave I When you take things into consideration, it could be troublesome to choose one that could be named the best. If you want an AT-AT that is accurate to the movie version, you should buy the UCS AT-AT. For this particular reason, I would not recommend this set to collectors who look for a display piece. I would rather suggest getting the older version or one of the next ones. The entirety of each leg is built three studs wide which is the perfect scale I think and these use a total of eight 3x4 modified tiles, which first appeared as Minifigure stands, in light bluish grey! This piece has only appeared in one other set, 21108 Ghostbusters Ecto-1, and there was only one of it there, so having eight of them included makes this a highly desirable set if you are looking for plenty of these useful pieces. With a higher piece count and the additional inflation of prices we see nowadays, this set came at a significantly higher price point than that of the 2014 AT-AT Walker although the sizes are pretty much the same. In terms of minifigures, I would say the selection is great but not large enough. Expensive sets of this magnitude should include more characters. My nephew and I love the spring loaded laser guns; the projectiles can travel at least six metres. The inside of the body is bland; there is not real detail in there, but plenty of room to store a couple of imperial storm trooper mini-figures. The new AT-AT is smaller than its predecessors (except for one; 10178 Motorized Walking AT-AT has the same amount of pieces), but has a more robust appearance than previous versions. The head is a lot sturdier than before and now includes two spring loaded missiles underneath.

Category summary

Other than that I found the build entertaining as there is an enjoyable mixture of Technic and System construction, as well as some pretty smart techniques which are used. You begin with the main body of the AT-AT and then move on to the legs before finishing it off with constructing the head and adding the armour plating. For me the most notable technique used was how the ankle is built as it yields an incredibly accurate result, using a 1x3 tile placed over a Technic beam. This allows the tile to be raised about a quarter of a plate-width above the rest of the ankle section! On sale, this set really is a must have, and even at full price I would highly recommend it if you are particularly interested in the AT-AT or the Battle of Hoth. This is by far my favourite of the four models released, and although it looks very similar to the other sets, it is superior in almost every way. At the very least I suggest purchasing a couple of Snowtroopers as they are fantastic, probably my favourite Minifigures of this entire wave! This particular LEGO version of the AT-AT walker came out in 2014 and has a couple of distinctive characteristics that separate it from the previous models. First of all, this version is smaller than the previous ones although it has a much higher piece count than the 2010 version, for example. Honestly, it could have been made bigger and that would have made fans more satisfied. Neben dem imperialen Kampfläufer sind noch 5 Figuren enthalten, 2 Snowtrooper / 1 Snowtrooper Kommandant / 1 AT-AT Pilot / General Veers.
