About this deal

The interiors are tiny, but they managed to squeeze in some furniture, and a sitting area, which is a great use of what little space they had. The Elf Clubhouse joins 2014’s Santa’s Workshop and last year’s Gingerbread House as a fantasy-themed expansion of LEGO’s beloved Winter Village theme, which is a personal favourite of mine. The LEGO Reindeer is an absolutely great addition, and a must-have for any Winter Village. I really, really wish LEGO had bumped the price up slightly to accommodate for another reindeer, or a few more Elves. It does have its own unique style, with the tall roof, which has a sharper angle, and two windows that emerge out each side.

There are no names afforded to the Elves, although the “leader” can be inferred by the red scarf. They have all sorts of cheery expressions on their face, which is exactly what you’d expect from indentured magical creatures.

Explore your favorite family Christmas traditions with this delightful building challenge. Build the quaint Elf Club House (10275) then explore all its cozy holiday details as you unwind with this hands-on project. The Elf Club House is a fun little set, that expands on the Winter Village by providing a base of operations and accommodation for Santa’s hardworking Elves. Winter Village sets have evolved to be more than a standard LEGO offering. Just like the Modular Buildings, their annual release have become highly anticipated within the more adult LEGO community. So much so that this year LEGO have included the Winter Village set in their 18+ category, you can expect the next Modular in January to be an 18+ set too. My favorite Winter Village set I've built is set 10254-1 Holiday Train, but there's one I don't have that I'd love to get my hands on, set 10235-1 Village Market. The Elves have a tendency of sleeping in and being lazy, which is why the leader, Galadriel is equipped with a megaphone to wake them up.

I highly recommend this set, for everyone, you will not be disappointed by the end model, there's just so much that's great about it. Highlights of the set: the mini-built gifts and furniture (especially the wrapping station, just genius!), I'm in love with the lights and will likely be creating more for my Winter Village, and of course the Christmas Tree. At it's core it's the same standard LEGO have settled on for how to build a really great tree, but here Chris took a totally different approach to the outer 'shell' and in the process created the fullest looking LEGO tree ever! It's the most wonderful time of the year...Obviously I'm talking about the release of the next Winter Village set. The Winter Village sets are probably the biggest factor for coming out of my dark ages. I tend to like the more realistic ones so for a second year in a row I'm uncertain on how keen I am on the fantasy subject matter. Last year's Gingerbread House won me over, let's see if the Elf Club House can do the same (spoiler alert, my Christmas addiction probably means it will!) Contents: The Set

Final thoughts: The LEGO Elf Club House is a worthy addition to the Winter Village, and is a solid follow-up to last year’s Gingerbread House. This year’s design is a breath of fresh air, and I love the use of 2 x 1 cutout wedges to give the tree its angled shape and sense of texture.

The use of the LEGO Movie 2 stars as the umm, star that adorns the tip of the Christmas tree is also a great choice, although it seems a teensy bit oversized for the tree. What do you think of the 2020 Winter Village set? Do you think it’s a great addition to the Winter Village and does it fit in well with the other buildings? This is an easy, easy set to recommend to buy, as you’ll enjoy every moment of the set. With LEGO being in such short supply this year, I wouldn’t hesitate in pulling the trigger on the Elf Club House, especially if you want to avoid missing out for Christmas this year.

New LEGO animals are always a moment to celebrate, and I’m very pleased with the overall design, which we first saw with the LEGO Patronus from last year’s Expecto Patronum set. Last but not least of the mini builds is this amazing retro desktop computer, with Elf looking up Santa’s Nice List. You think Facebook is bad because they have so much data on you? Wait till you see Santa’s file on you. This is a minor, minor gripe, and has been a problem forever, but I really dislike the colour bleeding from the Elf hat onto their ears. It’s honestly incredible just how fun this is, especially since this was created without any complex mechanism or parts. Bag 4: Last years Gingerbread House set an incredibly high bar for roof design, one that is unlikely to ever be beaten. But the Elf Club House gives it a good try. It has some steep, dramatic slopes that aren't often seen in LEGO houses, and as long as you can look past the small gap where the roof sections join, you'll love the final look, especially the curvy edges. It would have been so easy to design this with the straight edge but the designer took that specific step to add depth to the roofline. The main roof section is also held on by so little it's a complete mystery to me how it seems so solid and secure.
