About this deal

It’s hard to see how Dell could improve on this design, especially at this price. Every touch point is inviting, every panel durable, and every seam is slim or kept out of sight. Dell’s only serious competition is HP, which uses a similar design for its Pavilion All-in-One. The most obvious difference is the stand; Dell opts for wide, TV-style legs, while HP uses a traditional square monitor base. The bundled soundbar is loud and enjoyable Dell’s Inspiron 27 All-in-One is an excellent choice if you want a simple, attractive, versatile desktop for basic tasks. It will look great in both a home office or living room, isn’t overly large, and runs quietly. There’s plenty of connectivity for both wired and wireless peripherals and even HDMI-in for an external video source, such as a game console. The Inspiron 27 is not slow in day-to-day tasks but is not suited to more demanding applications like photo or video editing. It’s also a terrible choice for games. This will limit its appeal to those who only use a computer for document editing, web browsing, and retro gaming. It holds up on closer inspection. The fabric used across the Dell Inspiron 27’s chin feels soft and pleasant. Spin it around and you’ll find a sturdy white matte plastic rear panel with a chrome Dell logo. Most materials are plastic, but the legs are solid metal and feel extremely durable. The Inspiron 27 7720 model from Dell is perfect if you need an AIO computer that the whole family can enjoy. It costs barely more than our budget options but has a top-notch appearance, and it offers lots of up-to-date high-performance hardware for every family member.

Thankfully, Dell includes a wireless keyboard and mouse rather than a wired pair that clutters your desk. Both peripherals are white to match the rest of the system. The keyboard is compact and the optical mouse is ambidextrous; both are serviceable if no match for Logitech's or Microsoft's best. Look for a large, detailed display. This is one of the great advantages of all-in-ones, especially if you have specific visual requirements for your work/play and you won’t be able to replace the display later like you can with other PCs. Look for around 24 to 27 inches to start with and 4K resolution if you have any interest in a higher resolution. Some are touchscreens, but this feature isn’t always important on an all-in-one. Another HP, here we have the HP AIO 27 with a smaller HP AIO 24 also available. The utilitarian looking all-in-one desktop brings plenty to the table in terms of specification. Powered again by Intel Core i7-1165G7 it is not short on processing cycles and together with a generous 16GB memory and dual storage solution, its your perfect do it all companion. For our performance charts, we compared the Inspiron 27 All-in-One to another 27-inch AIO based on a previous-generation mobile Core i7, the Acer Aspire C27, as well as three 24-inch all-in-ones: the business-focused Dell OptiPlex 5490; the low-priced, AMD-powered Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3; and the M1-based Apple iMac.

Another entry from HP, this time the HP Envy All-In-One PC also with 27-inch Ultra HD monitor but with integrated touchscreen. It also takes on a whole new design language, one that is darker and more rectangular with sharp edges while maintaining a mysterious and sleek outlook. It differentiate itself from the rest where instead of jamming all the components behind the display, HP has opted instead to use a set-top box styled base. This is the machine that will make iMac users green with envy especially when it supports touch. Display: 27″ diagonal, Full HD (1920 x 1080), touch, IPS, three-sided micro-edge, BrightView, 250 nits Finally, we have the Surface Studio 2, an All-in-One like no other. The Surface Studio 2 is way overdue for an update and comes with a ridiculously high price tag. But all that is justified when you see how much care and attention to detail is put into the design of this design powerhouse. From the magnetic attachment for the Surface Pen, the floating hinge and lets you effortlessly change the angle of the display to how slim the entire display is. It is actually no bigger than a tablet. Let’s call it a giant slate and leave it at that. Again, it is no 27-inch but a close 28-inch AIO. As for power, the Envy 32 gets it from the 10th generation Intel Core i7-10700 Octa-Core processor with 16GB system memory and fast 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. This is a true premium offering with no expense spared in its design. Even the pop-up web cam carries a whooping 5MP sensor. But it doesn’t stop there, apart from the huge amount of connectivity ports, the stand and base also serves as a wireless charging pad. Plus, the keyboard comes with a phone holder and works across devices with . It is clever little things like that that made the HP Envy a CES 2020 Innovation Award Honoree.

Studio-quality sound

Hard drive retention: Hard drive retention is not available on models with a soldered hard drive, including XPS 9315 2in1, Chromebooks or Venue tablets, except the Venue 11 Pro. I can’t say the same about the keyboard. It uses a rubber dome membrane that creates a squishy, vague key feel. This makes the keyboard uncomfortable to use for long periods, as it’s hard to know how far a key should be pressed to be activated. Terms Apply. Promotion ends 3 December 2023.
