About this deal

We might recommend the Go to you if you already own either the Hypervolt BT or the BT Plus as a complimentary device. This is because the attachments are interchangeable. If you’re new to massage guns, you want a lightweight gun that’s easy to use, or you want a device that you can slip into your gym bag or take travelling, the Hypervolt Go is the perfect massage gun. The handle diameter is the same as the full-sized Hypervolts. The handle offers a comfortable and firm grip for most people. However, it presents a bit of a challenge for those with smaller hands who may actually wish for a narrower handle. But, as much as we had a fierce debate over the Theragun Mini’s value for money, we had no arguments over this device. For its steep price, this is a disappointing hardware. The low stall force gives it away. Compared to other devices in its category, it’s simply not good enough. The app itself isn’t very user-friendly — I struggled to find a routine, and as the Hypervolt Go 2 couldn’t connect to the app via Bluetooth, there’s no indication of force, or what speed you should be using the gun at — the addition of both would be great for beginners. I also found a lot of the routines were pretty long, my go-to lower-body sequence took 24 minutes, which is as long as my strength workout on some days. That said, I liked the in-app timer and the video demonstration with a voice-over that gave me instructions and tips. I also liked seeing a real person using the gun, rather than a diagram. Hyperice Hypervolt Go 2 review: Verdict

When the attachments are mounted appropriately, this gun is decently quiet. Just like the bigger Hypervolts, the Go is impressively hushed. In this respect, the Go outshines the Theragun Mini which is considerably loud. Even though it’s just the 3 speed gears, for a mini massage gun you probably will not require more. The Hyperice Hypervolt GO 2 is a solid piece of kit. It really is the smaller version of the big Hypervolt 2, and I mean this as a compliment. The main difference between the two – apart from the size, of course – is that the Hypervolt GO 2 has a slightly angled handle. Both units are percussion massagers, meaning that they use rapid, repetitive pressure to work out your muscles and boost circulation. They also both have powerful brushless motors and offer three different speed settings. However, their percussions per minute (PPMs) differ. The Hypervolt Go offers 2,200, 2,750, and 3,200 PPMs. The Mini 2.0 offers 1,750, 2,100, and 2,400 PPMs. Since the higher the PPMs, the more intense the massage, the Hypervolt Go is the more powerful option. Battery Life After months of speculation, Hyperice finally unveiled their first mini massage gun, the Hypervolt GO. We aren’t necessarily surprised by the announcement. Given the current massage gun trend towards going smaller, we assumed it was only a matter of time before Hyperice would join the ranks. It’s not too much of a stretch to assume the Hypervolt GO is Hyperice’s answer to the Theragun Mini, their direct competitor.

We’ve tried a lot of massage guns in our time—and many of them are heavy, difficult to hold, and loud. That’s not the case with Hypervolt Go 2. The small contraption relaxed our muscles, featured a nice grip, and stayed quiet enough that we could watch television or talk to our partners without having to shout over the recovery device. Most mini guns we have tested have 7-8mm head travel. With 10mm the Go actually falls under the elite category of mini massage guns. The Hyperice mission is to help everyone on Earth move, live, and be better. They do this by creating high-tech recovery products to relieve muscle tension and restore your body and mind to their best versions. The company acquired its name from its very first product—a portable ice compression device designed for professional athletes to recover faster and stronger. Nowadays some of their most popular products are their massage guns. The specs says a reasonable 28.6 lbs. We tested it and can confirm it’s somewhat in the mid 20s range, so a tad weaker than Bantam above, but not far from it. This also means it can deliver a fairly better percussive massage than the Go.
