About this deal

Ensure that you plant the seeds carefully using clean equipment to avoid contaminating the growth environment. The seeds have to be in touch with the compost to optimise maximum growth. First, you will need to know how much your energy provider charges per kilowatt-hour. Let’s say they charge 14p per kWh (a relatively standard rate in the UK). Yes, you can water seeds in a propagator but the aim is not to flood the seeds. It is advisable to soak the seed pots in a shallow tray to permit the compost to get wet. Once the compost is wet the seeds can get moisture from the compost without exposing the seeds to too much moisture or compromising the electrical components. Do I need a heated propagator? For example, in the above list, there are some seven-cell propagators, which would make it possible to plant around 21 seeds (if you planted three seeds in each cell). However, the good thing with individual-cell propagators like this is that you can have better control over the temperature in each cell.

Large, one-cell units that measure around 52 x 45 cm can be used to try to germinate around 140 seeds. They’re often big enough to fit 2 x 24-pot seed trays, and if you get 3 seeds in each pot, this can mean the potential to plant 144 seeds. Please note that the right to return goods which are not faulty does not apply to any goods which have been made to your own specifications. Although this propagator doesn’t have a timer or thermostat, the growing conditions can be controlled to an extent using the air vents. It’s also incredibly simple to use, while the heat produced is even across the 7 trays. After 28 days, items can still be returned at the discretion of our staff, excluding garden tools, electrical goods, and plants under our 1-year guarantee. If you find one of our competitors selling the same product which we sell at a lower price than our price then we will endeavour to match their price!

The adjustable thermostat allows you to set the temperature anywhere between12 and 28 degrees Celsius using the dial. The 50W heater is more powerful than the heater found on most other heated propagators. This is ideal for plants that require a specific temperature to germinate.

Not to be mistaken for the Garland Super7 Heated Propagator we reviewed previously, this Super 7 Self-watering Propagator is for those who would rather automatically provide water than heat to their germinating seeds and subsequent seedlings. This is an unheated propagator so do make sure that your windowsill or wherever you place it is warm enough to encourage the seeds to start growing. These provide a consistent temperature that is pre-set by the manufacturer. The heat is usually constantly on and cannot be turned off. These are ideal for lots of seeds but are may not suitable if you are growing different types of seeds that will germinate at different temperatures. The pre-set temperature made by a set temperature (e.g. 19°C) or maybe a temperature difference (e.g +5°C over the ambient temperature). Heated – with thermostat This propagator comes with a power cord, although at 2m it may be a little short. Using it with an extension cable may be necessary. Then, you’ll need to multiply the wattage of the propagator by the number of hours it’ll be used each day. Divide this number by 1000 and multiply by 14 (or your specific kWh rate). How To Return A Product

A heated propagator creates an environment that’s just a few degrees above air temperature, forming conditions that help many seeds to germinate. The best part is that they cost just a few pence a day to run. Extra features on this propagator are very limited. There is no thermostat and no timer, although a timer can be separately hooked up. Many users found that it got too hot for some seedlings, so I’d recommend keeping an eye on things for the first few days. Not all propagators are suitable for use outside in your greenhouse, though all can be used inside your home. Assume that the propagator can’t be taken outside unless the information of its box tells you otherwise. Alternate heat and light source You can be completely secure in the knowledge that nothing passed to SagePay can be examined or decrypted including transaction information and/or cardholder data by any third parties, staff within our company or by SagePay. This compact electric propagator is an ideal plant and flower nursery solution for your windowsill. It features seven mini propagators which allow you to grow a wide variety of different plants in just one unit for great convenience. The non-thermostatically controlled 13-watt carbon fibre heated base unit provides the ideal conditions for growth by evenly distributing heat and raising the ambient compost temperature by up to 8°C. A great way to ensure perfect light conditions for successful propagation while protecting your seedlings from draught and cold. Features and Benefits

If you want to ensure a high yield of germinated seedlings, this 22W Stewart P035B Electric Propagator allows you to plant up to 144 seeds at a time, which can result in germinating at least 50 plants in one ‘round’. The plastic is nice and robust, especially the little green trays and lids, which I really like (lids have vents I never had closed). Propagators aren’t really the sort of thing that looks stylish, I think the Super 7 is a little bit though, especially when different seedlings start germinating. It’s cool and compact. For example, if you run a propagator of 100 W for an hour, at this rate, it will cost you 1.4p for that hour. A propagator of 50 W will cost 0.7p for an hour. And a propagator of 22 W will cost you 0.3 p per hour. There was only one way to test the EarlyGrow 3-Bay Heated Electric Propagator! I took my kids to our local garden centre, where they chose a small variety of fruit and vegetable seeds they wanted to grow. I tried to guide them within the suggested ‘germination months’, but they were naturally drawn to the strawberries! Hey, might as well give it a try right?! So we planted strawberry, peas, and giant pepper seeds. My boys ready for some planting!Internal water reservoir with capillary matting that takes water up to the plant so you don’t have to. Suttons strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Air vents in the lid open and close easily as an additional control for the temperature and humidity. Having a propagator with separate ‘cells’ will mean you can choose to ventilate certain cells and not others which allows you to adjust the environment to the individual seed. Set the temperature that is required to promote plant growth if your heated propagator has a thermostat.Generally, a height of around 20 cm will allow enough space for your seedlings to establish properly, giving them enough time to grow good roots and 3 – 4 full leaves before having to transplant them. Finally, in terms of build quality, I have no complaints. It seems to be as well built like most other models, the lids seem to be shatterproof. Each lid has their own vent so you control the environment (including ventilation and humidity) within each mini-propagator separately. Most other propagators you cannot do this with as they have one large lid over the whole of the propagator. Pros
