[70] Voyage along the Seven Seaways canal and behold a cast of almost 300 Audio-Animatronics dolls representing children from every corner of the globe as they sing the classic anthem to world peace—in their native languages.

Waggoner, Diana (1978). The Hills of Faraway: A Guide to Fantasy. Atheneum. pp.22–23. ISBN 0-689-10846-X. Allison Peirson was burned as a witch in 1588 for conversing with the Queen of Elfame and for prescribing magic charms and potions (Byre Hills, Fife, Scotland). [7] This same woman (styled "Alison Pearson") is also featured in Robert Sempill's ballad (1583) where she is said to have been in a fairy-ride. [8] [9] [10] Sempill's piece mentions "Elphyne" glossed as "Elfland" [11] or "Fairyland". [4] George Reade – “It’s hard when a good dog gets old. And when they get to the end of it…” He shook his head. “It tears your heart out.” Yes, George it does. And like Charlie, I would have absolutely gone down a creepy hole into the depths of the earth to a warped Grimm fairy tale version of Narnia if it would have given me a chance to save our dogs. Records of the Scottish witch trials reveal that many initiates claimed to have had congress with the "Queen of Elfame" and her retinue. On November 8, 1576, midwife Bessie Dunlop, a resident of Dalry, Scotland, was accused of sorcery and witchcraft. She answered her accusers that she had received tuition from Thomas Reid, a former barony officer who had died at the Battle of Pinkie 30 years earlier and from the Queen of "Court of Elfame" that lay nearby. [5] It resulted in a conviction and she was burned at the stake [6] in 1576.

Folklorists have classified fairy tales in various ways. The Aarne-Thompson-Uther classification system and the morphological analysis of Vladimir Propp are among the most notable. Other folklorists have interpreted the tales' significance, but no school has been definitively established for the meaning of the tales.

A more modern cinematic fairy tale would be Luchino Visconti's Le Notti Bianche, starring Marcello Mastroianni before he became a superstar. It involves many of the romantic conventions of fairy tales, yet it takes place in post- World War II Italy, and it ends realistically.

King makes the same mistake I'm seeing with a lot of authors right now in that he tries to give voice to a first-person narrator who is clearly beyond King's understanding. The worst part is that King knows it and tries to make excuses throughout the entirety of this book.
