About this deal

After finishing the update, remove the TF card from the motherboard slot and delete the bin file inside. Perhaps the biggest game changer for the Ender 3 V2 Neo is the CR-Touch auto-leveling system. It uses a touch probe to automatically scan 16 separate points on the bed before each print to discover and adjust for any unevenness on the platform. This ensures ensures level accuracy and a consistently high-quality first layer. The automatic bed leveling dramatically improves the 3D printing experience, as it eliminates the hassle of manual levelling altogether. Usability and Ease of Assembly Wham Bam’s HotBox V2 enclosure is a solid option if you want to transform the Ender 3 into an ABS-ready printer with as little hassle as possible. The low price, popularity, dedication to open source, and number of online guides and documentation are great, but it’s the broader range of functionality and features on offer that really appeals to me. The major downside of a tent is that the plastic sheets are designed to reflect heat and have a murky white finish. As a consequence, photography tents offer no visibility of the printer, but do come with a zipper door or flap that makes accessing it easier.

It’s a standalone box that takes care of the color/material swapping for you, feeding them as and when the print requires it into the Ender 3, which prints as normal. The Palette 3 uses up to eight filament strands and combines them into a single strand of filament that’s then fed into the printer, automatically switching based on the multi-color model you send it. The upgrade is specifically for the Ender 3, which makes it more of a DIY project than Creality alternatives, but for the flexibility it offers, it’s certainly worth the extra effort.Overall, the Creality Ender 3 V2 Neo impressed. It is what it claims to be: an updated version of the hugely successful Ender 3 that brings it in line with the new tech we have a few years on. Cable passages and velcro retainers feature on all sides, along with an air vent port, and even an in-built thermometer for monitoring. The top panel features a velcro panel for the Ender 3’s spool holder to sit outside the enclosure. And if you prefer to avoid any coding, Marlin has pre-configured profiles suited to all Ender 3 models. There’s a huge community of users to help with any unusual setups, issues, and general troubleshooting, so you’re never left to deal with a problem alone. Bear in mind that there’s a trade off between speed and precision. As you increase your print speed, you might see a fall in the quality of your 3D object. The kit even comes with a custom mount and extender cable to position the Ender 3’s power supply outside the enclosure.

Therefore, if you want the highest level of definition in your prints, try printing at the minimum layer height. The Ender-3 V2 Neo has a minimum layer height of 0.1 mm with the default being 0.2 mm, same as the original Ender range. The Ender 3 Neo requires a substantial amount of work to assemble, even though Creality ships it partially assembled. Out of the box, it takes at least an hour to assemble and set up, and may take longer if you are not experienced with 3D printers. Creality offers its very own enclosure solution designed specifically for the Ender 3. What I like so much here is the simplicity: no complex assembly, high prices, or major limitations. The Creality tent enclosure covers all the main filaments: ASA, PC, ABS, and pretty much any other heat-sensitive material.Smaller right side and top openings with velcro covers grant two additional angles to access the printer without removing the entire enclosure. The tents are typically made of flame-retardant plastic sheets (to cater for photography lights placed inside) that do a reasonably good job of containing heat, offering the Ender 3 a cozy environment to print filaments like ABS. It’s not the most insulative, but for those on a budget, it’s more than sufficient for most print projects. These fumes can have hazardous consequences when breathed in. Similarly, many heat-sensitive filament types produce unpleasant odors, which an enclosure can help reduce, which is useful if you can’t set up the printer in a well-ventilated area.
