About this deal

When you think that you are done, you're only 40% in to what your body's capable of doing. That's just the limits that we put on ourselves. The human body can withstand and accomplish a hell of a lot more than most of us think possible, and that it all begins and ends in the mind." a b c "David Goggins Defies the Odds". Usveteransmagazine. November 2018. Archived from the original on October 20, 2020 . Retrieved November 16, 2019. I appreciated the "Challenge" sections at the end of each chapter, which provided practical exercises to implement the principles discussed in the book. These challenges helped me apply the concepts to my life, and they were a valuable addition to the overall reading experience. On the one hand, it's an inspiring story of a man who has overcome a lifetime of struggle and proved that you can do anything if you're willing to push yourself. In the first half of the book especially this was a message that resonated with me and made me think about David Goggins as a man to look up to. This book is only about pushing past pain, taking pain meds, and constantly being in unbelievably stupid situations purely because he thinks "Pain" = gain.

He not only became a Navy SEAL, but he also ended up going through hell week thrice and is probably the only person to go through Hell week thrice and lived to tell the tale!!! There is a lot of swearing in this book, which some people might find offensive. It is true that the author's language might pump you up and motivates you to push forward over the obstacles. But some readers might think his language as inane and will make them indignant and discontent. We’re providing you with a Can’t Hurt Me summary and book review that will provide you with all the actionable challenges that he presents in the book.David Goggins: SEAL, Endurance Athlete – VA News.” VA News, 23 July 2020, https://news.va.gov/77222/david-goggins-seal-endurance-athlete/.

Using pity for solace is not a good tactic. People who take comfort in other people pitying them are relying on external sources for comfort and reassurance. It's ultimately weakness. I highly recommend getting both the physical and Audible version of the book because as David Goggins did with his first book, the Audible comes with podcast bites at the end of each chapter and those are golden. David Goggins had his mother feature in the recordings where there was a conversation at the end of one of the chapters and that was one of the most heartbreaking yet enlightening and inspiring conversations I’ve ever heard whilst listening to an Audible book. I hope it’s released on YouTube one day so it can reach a large audience as that conversation alone could help millions of people heal. I don't do this for recognition" except I wrote 2 books, have made more money than anyone ever on speaking engagements I should of known when he’s literally running on the cover, that’s the entire book. All running related and instead of running on broken legs this time it’s on broken knees. I don’t mean that in a light way, you just expect that from the “savage” that is Goggins.Strength comes in many forms. While David’s story not only shows us an incredible display of strength, it is also Herculean mental strength! That fortitude to do, to overcome, to be more than what others think you are capable of. That is the rarest and most powerful of strengths to train. Never Finished is about mental grit, becoming dedicated to discipline, and giving your all, to all things you commit to. ⁣ Itzler, Jesse (2015). Living with a SEAL: 31 Days Training with the Toughest Man on the Planet (1sted.). New York, NY: Hachette Book Group. pp.3–9. ISBN 9781455534678. David Goggins says that you, too, should practice this. Visualize your own personal successes you hope to achieve as well as the challenges you may face getting there. This will help you “be as prepared as you possibly can be.” This will also help you develop a “you can’t hurt me” attitude.

Wer danach keine Hummeln unterm Arsch vor Tatendrang hat, dem kann ich auch nicht mehr helfen. The author tells us the situation where he faced a winter storm in the mountains during his fortnight field training exercises (FTX's) with minimal protective equipment and food. His colleagues wheezed and coughed with their eyes wide with terror. He feared that someone would die from frostbite, hypothermia, or pneumonia. He found this winter storm as an opportunity to lead by example. He tells us the importance of coming out of the comfort zone. He looked at the winter storm as a platform to become uncommon among uncommon men.
