The porch area has a ground sheet - this is great for storing gear. If it rained it would not be too bad hunkering down in there as a group of three. The porch has three doors so you not be clambering over each other to dash to the loo. Materials are even worse than our last Coleman bought 10 years ago. The floor material is so cheap (basically fiber-reinforced garbage bag material) the vestibule floor tore 1st time we set it up (we were able to repaire it with some creative sewing because we are in a pinch with an upcoming camping trip or we would have returned it). I *strongly* recommend using a ground cloth tarp under it or it will be punctured the first time you camp with it. This Coleman product is RUBBISH. I bought a coastline 3 to replace a much loved Coleman Bi Space 300 which was the best tent I ever owned. I have used this tent in windy weather and with torrential rain, and it stays very stable and completely dry inside. My only concern is the porch groundsheet (which is why this tent gets 4 stars instead of 5 stars). Other reviewers have noted that the groundsheet isn't a perfect fit around the sides, and when the rain is hammering down, some of it is likely to get into the porch. Being very waterproof, puddles form in the porch and your gear gets wet. My solution to this is to not use the porch groundsheet at all. Like any good tent, the Coleman Coastline 3 Plus is designed to handle poor weather conditions. For instance, the rising groundsheet offers the comfort of a sewn-in groundsheet and the breath-ability and easy cleaning of a flat groundsheet. I'd tossed up between midge hell and breezy in pitching the tent, but didn't contend with the severe billowing the tent displayed.

The tent is low profile, you can see its peak height in the picture above. The shell creates a large vestibule, the yellow area on the left in the picture. If you do use it, on rainy nights don't leave anything in the porch that objects to getting wet. The good thing is that the porch groundsheet is separate from the bedroom compartment, so that will stay completely dry even if you have a puddle in the porch. Oh, one last thing. Adults can't stand up in this tent (unless they are exceptionally short), but you don't have to grovel about on your hands and knees. It is tall enough for you to stoop over, which makes it easy to move around, get dressed, and sort out your gear. I cannot be bothered with small tents where you have to crawl about or get dressed lying on your bed. I want a sense of space and freedom of movement, and that's what you get with this tent. Granted, you can certainly sleep three people in the tent, things will just be quite tight and there won’t be much free space for equipment and supplies. Therefore, it’s best for only one or two people to use the tent so they have a pleasant sleeping area for relaxing in, although two adults and child should have enough room to remain comfortable.
