BTEC Nationals are widely recognised by industry and higher education as the signature vocational qualification at Level 3. They provide progression to the workplace either directly or via study at a higher level. The travel and tourism sector has to meet the needs and preferences of many different types of customer. This can include customer needs such as wanting a holiday at a certain time of year or within a certain budget, and preferences such as individuals wanting an adventure holiday and families wanting a beach and activities for young children. Approximately half of our students go on to jobs or apprenticeships and the other half go on to university. The qualification gives learners the opportunity to build skills that show an aptitude for further learning, both in the sector and more widely. BTEC assessment approaches are proven to be successful in building skills and motivating learners to engage fully with challenging study.
