About this deal

Autumn is upon us and there’s no better time to curl up with a book and “23” is a cosy crime caper which as it happens is also very funny. Set near Manchester there are some proper LOL lines and twists to keep you entertained. Raquel is a wife, mother of three and a food journalist. She is a very typical person. That is until new neighbours move into number 23 and she gets herself into a very chaotic situation. I found myself reading sentences and paragraphs out loud to my partner as I cried with laughter and needed somebody else to discuss the hilarity with. I just loved this book from start to finish. This laugh-out-loud British comedy explores family, sisterhood, and the pitfalls of making questionable decisions. Will Raquel be able to save herself and her family from the consequences of her choices?

As Raquel’s misadventures take an unexpected turn towards the criminal, she faces an unthinkable dilemma. In her hour of need, she must turn to her eccentric and sometimes annoying family for help. There’s just one major hiccup – her husband, Dave, is a law-abiding police officer. I really hope the author leaves the anonymity behind because I really need to know who's behind the name. I am so looking forward to reading more books by you! is an outstanding debut novel by @njmillerbooks. Brilliant British humour from start to end, and you should definitely be reading this book. It's the perfect summer read! chronicles a summer of self-destruction, proving that even for those over forty, hormonal, and slightly bored, life can take unexpected and often hilarious turns. This is no doubt the most funniest book I have read in a while (thanks to the northern humour). There are a lot of laugh out loud moments, and the author NJ Miller brings a lot of wit and details into the story. I loved Raquel, even though at times I wanted to tell her to stop. Her mother's one liner are hilarious. I just felt like I was right in the middle of the situation with the family.

Full Series List in Order

When new neighbours moved in across the road, Raquel unnaturally decided to be friendly-a decision that could bring her world crashing down. Just one silly mistake triggered a chain of events that could land her behind bars, leaving her with no choice but to turn to her eccentric and annoying family for help. The arrival of new neighbours at number 23 thrusts the word “neighbourly” into an entirely new dimension, forever altering Raquel and her family’s lives. In an uncharted territory, Raquel finds herself grappling to maintain her family’s safety. No good deed goes unpunished, eh? We meet Raquel, wife to Dave, mother to 3 kids, sister to Mel, daughter to the most annoying parents. Raquel is a foodie, a writer, and definitely an overthinker, especially if there is wine involved.

We all slip up at some point in life, don't we? The real issue, the one that matters most, is whether we can get away with it. This self-published debut novel is by an author whose real identity has never been revealed in what some might think is a bold and brave move. NJ Miller has delivered a brilliant debut all on her own terms and I like her style! I also would like to know her as her observations on life, love and the neighbours are hilarious.
