The designer duo wanted to give men the fragrance that is Flowerbomb to women, bearing in mind that spices are for masculine scents what flower notes are for feminine. In many cases, overhyped fragrances rarely deliver, but I’m already sharing with you that at this price point, and with this relatively safe composition, you cannot go wrong. Especially, if you are new to the perfume world.

The box is standard like you would find in many other releases both from designer and niche houses, yet still, if you see it in the perfume store, you know it is a Viktor&Rolf product.For those who don't know, Elemi is a tropical tree (Canarium Luzonicum) which is native from the Philippines and Moluccas Islands, from which a natural gum is extracted, then is distilled to produce its essential oil. It has nuances very close to incense, but also can present green and aromatic tones of coriander. After a massive success with the original Spicebomb which impacted the fragrance industry, Viktor&Rolf’s Spicebomb Extreme had big shoes to fill in and deliver another successful product. Sillage is pretty powerful and it will leave a couple of feet of scent trail behind you. How Many Sprays Is Enough?

The iconic grenade-shaped bottle and the explosive name accurately reflect the powerful and spicy character of this fragrance, all while maintaining charm and sophistication. Spicebomb projects strongly and lasts remarkably long, a testament to its high-quality ingredients that suit a mature and well-dressed man. I have tried this twice. The older batch smelled like freshly-spinning cotton candy and it was so sweet it made me nauseous. I wrote off any Spicebomb for a few years because I tried this first and it was "the peak" of the line. NightVision EDT was also a disappointing candy apple and tree mixture. Infrared EDP? Just throw some cinnamon on NightVision. It's best to wear this fragrance at night, but it might work as a daytime fragrance as well. Ideal for autumn and winter.

Too bad that I could think of at least five to ten fragrances that do the same linear thing with spicy oriental compositions on a similar level of quality for less money, and much better quality at the higher price point.
