Our protagonist Laikyn was also very pale. She just cries and doesn't even show her strength. Apparently, there is no such thing. Laikin doesn't want to marry him but Tyson doesn't give her a choice. Trapped in his cage but what will happen when secrets start to come out? One Christmas, while everyone was thinking of what resolutions they would make for the coming year, she already had something concrete in mind. Shantel convinced herself that she was going to become an author come what may. I didn't love Lake as the FMC, though. There were parts where she was a total badass, and I was like, HELL YEA GIRL, but then she kind of fell flat for me.

He believes he has done her a favor, even though she feels like she has been given a death sentence. He had refused to get married as he is still in love with her but it does seem that he wants more power and money. Every time i thought i had things figured out there was something else that comes to light which throws you for another loop and ruins everything you thought you knew. I was definitely super excited to read Tyson’s story cause I had anticipated his story ever since the Ritual due to his mysterious, charismatic, and Exhibtionistic nature. In The Sacrifice, we find another side of Tyson where we explore his past and his relationship with the Lords, and we finally get a better understanding of it. I have been hesitating to write a review for this book since it was the least of my favorite in the series, but Tyson’s book was my most anticipated read in the series. However, I am here to give an honest review in exchange for this ARC. Initially, I rated this as a 3, but I thought about it and narrowed it down to a 2. Please understand that we have different opinions, and please don’t be disheartened if mine is different. I respect if you love the book. I definitely respect how the book was written, and the characters came to be. There were so many twists and turn getting thrown at you constantly that you basically held your breath the whole time you were reading. Just nonstop action and mystery.

I was so hyped to finally read Tyson's story! He was just as brutal, secretive, and maddening as I thought he would be, and I loved him for it! In addition to all that, his relationship with his elder sibling began to deteriorate. These events left him feeling all alone and lost and hence he soon turned to fighting, alcohol, sex, and drugs to mask his pain.

The Sacrifice is set in the same world as The Ritual and The Sinner. It is full of violence, suspense, and twists and turns that were not expected.As for her influences, Shantel Tessler does not have a particular book as she believes every work she read over the years has impacted her in some way. I'm tired of reading about fmcs who r treated like shit yet secretly enjoy all the nasty stuff that's done to them. Like yes i like me some dubcon situation and all that but when it's the same deal with all the lords,things get monotonous at this point. Here I found the love story particularly difficult. The protagonist Tyson was together with the protagonist’s sister before this book . . . I found that very difficult . . . Precisely because I did not like the “justification” and could not understand it either . . . If you've read any of Shantel Tessier's books set in the Lord's world, you can expect more of the same dark, violent, filthy fun in The Sacrifice! Like dominoes, everything started falling down around her. Her mother happens to be down with cancer which has kept her bedridden for months. As such, at such a critical time she finds herself all alone with her troubles.
