About this deal

The film's content comes largely from the three previously released animated featurettes Disney produced based upon the Winnie-the-Pooh books by A. A. Milne: Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (1966), Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day (1968), and Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too! (1974). Extra material with Holloway and Cabot reprising their roles used to link the three featurettes together was added to allow the stories to flow into each other. This marks the second to last appearance of actor Ralph Wright. He would return one more time as the voice of Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore, released 6 years later. In 1977, Bruce Reitherman the original US voice actor remains role fact, Because Christopher Robin has a British with a British accent who was re-dubbed by Jon Walmsley in the segment of Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is perhaps my favorite movie of all time. Thousands of parents can also attest that it's a certain winner for the kiddies, maintaining family values without worry. This DVD shows our wonderful fluffy Poohbear in three vignette adventures. He's joined by Christopher Robin, that crabby ol' Rabbit, loveable Piglet and bouncy Tigger, as well as his other 100 Acre Wood friends.Film critic, Leonard Maltin, calls the movie a gem. However, Friz Freleng says the funniest Walt Disney adaptations are based on the books The film has a 91% fresh rating in Rotten Tomatoes.

In lieu of an audio commentary, "Pooh's Pop-Up Fun Facts" has been carried over from the old DVD as well. This plays the movie from beginning to end with various bits of trivia appearing on the screen in subtitle form throughout. This format is just about the worst way to present information, as the viewer must keep their eyes nervously glued to the screen in fear of missing something. It's difficult to concentrate on either the movie or the trivia and nearly impossibly to do both. The trivia varies from the obvious to the interesting and comes in spurts, with long gaps of no text in between. It's better than nothing and a good thing that it wasn't left off altogether (as the press release had suggested), but some improvement or an audio commentary would have been preferred. This easy-going innocence brings Pooh closer to childhood than any other Disney film. An interrogation of the youthful imagination, the film connects to the most enduring hope of our formative years: that all is right in the world. This is complemented by animation that presents a bright and sunny landscape populated by characters colorful in both appearance and personality. Also effective to this end are the voices that are perfectly matched with each character to make them instantly lovable. The many songs written for the featurettes by the legendary Sherman Brothers emulate Winnie the Pooh's instantly appealing, carefree effervescence. The resulting warmth of all this gives the movie tremendous power. Toy Story (1995) • A Bug's Life (1998) • Toy Story 2 (1999) • Monsters, Inc. (2001) • Finding Nemo (2003) • The Incredibles (2004) • Cars (2006) • Ratatouille (2007) • WALL-E (2008) • Up (2009) • Toy Story 3 (2010) • Cars 2 (2011) • Brave (2012) • Monsters University (2013) • Inside Out (2015) • The Good Dinosaur (2015) • Finding Dory (2016) Cars 3 (2017) • Coco (2017) • Incredibles 2 (2018) • Toy Story 4 (2019) • Onward (2020) • Soul (2020) • Luca (2021) • Turning Red (2022) • Lightyear (2022) • Elemental (2023)Eeyore is a sad, depressed and pessimist donkey. Rabbit is authoritarian, tense and sometimes unfair, but cool. Piglet is tiny, cute, shy and nervous. Tigger is carefree, wild, humorous, hilarious, amusing, very lively and loves to bounce on his friends. He bounces on Pooh, Piglet and Rabbit, but never on Cristopher Robin, Kanga, Roo, Eeyore, Gopher and Owl. It's good to have a character like Tigger to cheer us up.

Rabbit’s friends and relations aren't in the film at all, although they are seen at the beginning of the film near Christopher Robin’s house. This is a reference to the original books, as they are seen on the map at the beginning of the book. The film marks the first and final appearance of actors Junius Matthews ( Rabbit), Barbara Luddy ( Kanga), Sterling Holloway ( Winnie the Pooh), and Sebastian Cabot ( The Narrator). This DVD shows that Disney can really do a great job with a catalogue title when they want to. First-rate video and audio quality, interesting and thorough extras, and an outstanding little movie. What more could you ask for? Finally, there are two Exclusive Sneak Peeks for Piglet's Big Movie and Winnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh' is important. The film -- a collection of featurettes -- is a cherished production in Disney's illustrious vault, not just because it introduced the world to the animated versions of A. A. Milne's lovable characters, but also because this was one of the last productions that Walt Disney himself influenced before his untimely death in 1966.Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day' has always been a favorite of mine. Coming in a close second to 'Dumbo's "Pink Elephants on Parade" for "Creepiest Dream Sequence in a Disney Film," "Heffalumps and Woozles" is a psychedelic trip; which, by the way, is carried over perfectly into the Winnie the Pooh-themed Disneyland ride. Winnie the Pooh Storybook Classics was released on VHS worldwide in 1994. The featurettes include, Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (February 4, 1966), Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day (December 20, 1968), Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too! (December 20, 1974) and Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore(March 11, 1983). This was last released in 2000. The film was released on Blu Ray VHS Again in 2012. it includes Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore, a Pete's Dragon DVD Trailer, 10 The Mini Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Episodes, and the music video for the 2011 version of the Winnie the Pooh Theme Song.
