About this deal

The access to the cottage is along a lane that the neterance to is right on the corner of the street and is a tight turn into the laneso can be a bit daunting. There is nowhere to put clothes so living out the suitcase but that's OK. The only downside is the shower is tiny and difficult to get into if you are a bit large. The owners left us everything we needed to start us off milk, bread, butter, jam, tea, coffee and sugar which I thought was very thoughtfull,we enjoyed our week and the only reason we would not return was the area was too hilly for me as i am partially disabled.the ramp up to the property was very useful. I'm going to get a physical copy of the book too because there are just some books you love for whatever reason and you want to own them. It's just that simple. We had 120 Year 2s and 3s performing this 3 times this week, and it got a great reaction due to all of the different cultures represented and how original it was. We put a suitable, fun dance to all of the songs. Parents and staff loved it and it was such fun to produce and perform. We had 7 and 8 year olds doing solos and it was wonderful. Costumes were excellent and with lights, musicians and props it looked brilliant.’

I did suggest to the owner that maybe a clothes horse or a small washing line would be helpful. Would return again. We have recently performed The Button Box as our end of term play and I would just like to say how wonderful it was! I am a Y6 teacher and my class absolutely loved the storyline and parts to this play (we even had to create some extra parts using the ideas within the songs!) rnWe had 3 performances in total and they were all fantastic - we had many lovely comments from parents and relatives about the production.rn Adored 'belly Button Boogie'.By the way, my favorite moment had nothing much to do with the main characters. It involves minor characters, but the whole scene reminded me of something..... specific! The KING of the authors& brilliant Richard Chizmar saved the best for the last! And guess what they smartly weaved Roland Deschain’s universe into this story! Good news for Dark Tower fans! Both stories blended perfectly for us! I gave extra nerdy shrieks during my read each time I read those references! My geeky cells truly had a big celebration! The writing was King like and not at times. I honestly wonder if King and Chizimar took a dart board and just tried to figure out how to loop things into fitting with the Dark Tower and other books. I am usually happy about that, but this book it felt ham fisted. I will say, here and now, that if Chizmar's name ever gets associated with King's on another retirement fund writing project, I will happily and joyfully pass, knowing I saved my eyes a bunch of rolling, and saved my money by passing on yet another polished turd.

Small but perfect and a bit of a tardis to be honest...plenty of space (not so much in the shower when you're 6ft7 tho haha). It was quiet, even though surrounded by houses, and the views were gorgeous. For such a cosy place, it's still massively well equipped with everything you need, even thoughful touches like milk, bread, butter, little jams and some fresh orange juice....and we kept saying "we could live here"...thank you for a perfect little holiday....would love to return again soon. The Button Box was the perfect show for our Primary 4's to perform this year! The children absolutely loved the story and the songs. We all had a wonderful time rehearsing the production and the audience thoroughly enjoyed the performances. I would definitely recommend this show to other schools and I would love to do it again in the future. Our favourite song was 'Belly Button Boogie', we even had the audience joining in on the last night! Stephen made his first professional short story sale ("The Glass Floor") to Startling Mystery Stories in 1967. Throughout the early years of his marriage, he continued to sell stories to men's magazines. Many were gathered into the Night Shift collection or appeared in other anthologies. It's a nice story. A bit on the safe side maybe. We got a lot of likable characters, generic bully/ bad guy and a cozy mystery. Basically, it's like what might have happened if a decent person took possession of death note. But, I became acquainted with Richard Chizmar, when I read one of his short stories, “The Porch” and followed it up with “Chasing the Boogeyman” which ended up on my favorites list this year. When I heard about this collaboration, I added it to my TBR.

This isn't some big ole horror story. It's just a story of Gwendy and how she comes across the button box that she owns for a good portion of her life. There are secrets about the box. I thought they were pretty awesome. In some ways I could see how the box would be a terrifying thing to have in your possession for a few different reasons that I won't say. Gwendy's Button Box” by Stephen King and Richard Chizmar is the start of a trilogy I’ve been anxiously waiting to read for a while now. Believe it or not, I’ve yet to read a trilogy on my Kindle and figured if I’m going to start one, it needs to be by my all-time favorite author in King. I plan to read Gwendy's Button Box Trilogy consecutively and my goodness, the first book in this trilogy is fantastic. I’m not gonna give much away. I know when I start to talk about plot, I cannot stop myself without giving too much spoilers! I can only say I loved this thrilling wild space ride!I listened to the audio version of this book through the library Overdrive but I'm going to buy a copy from Audible. Maggie Swift from Sons Of Anarchy was the narrator and she was awesome!
