About this deal

One Saurus Astrolith Bearer from the last Saurus Warrior model, with kitbash from your now-massive Seraphon bits collection. Seraphon army rules are all contained in their third edition battletome. The first choice you have to make when selecting a Seraphon army is if they are either Coalesced or Starborne and is the most important one as it will force you in a certain direction. Basically you are looking at two different armies.

For 5 points you can resurrect D3 models to any unit with a wound characteristic of 1 or 2 and wholly within 12″ of a cosmic node. Contents: 1 Painboy (Elites), 11 Ork Boyz (Troops), 5 Nobz and ammo runt (Elites), 1 Deff Dread (Heavy Support) Note: this article was made prior to the December 2019 points update, so some points could have changed there. Value of the Start Collecting Seraphon box

Brad: Greetings, fellow painters. My name is Brad Glover, and today I’m talking about my latest converted army – my Seraphon. Anyone who has seen any of my troops will know that I heavily convert and kitbash every miniature, and I love to use a bright, garish colour scheme to make it stand out and be as unique as possible. Contents: 1 Terminator Captain (HQ), 10 Tactical Marines (Troops), 1 Venerable Dreadnought (Elites) The main trait of Starborne rotates around the cosmic nodes: friendly Starborne wizards, Astrolith Bearers and Realmshaper Engines. At the start of your hero phase, you receive a cosmic point for each wizard or Astrolith Bearer on the battlefield. In addition you receive 1 cosmic point for each time a friendly Starborne wizard successfully casts an unbound spell, unbinds a spell, or dispels an endless spell.

Saurus Knights Lance sprues, which have lance-wielding arms, the banner-wielding arm, banner accessories (including toppers), shield-carrying arms, wardrums, some club-wielding arms, an alternative head for the Alpha Knight's mount, and some decorations. To summarize, this is a great army, extremely competitive and fun for every type of player. You still need to study the synergies well but combining the various type of units is much more satisfying than before. If you want more information about Seraphon you can follow Caleb’s YouTube channel. The firsts of our Skink military leaders come from a single kit, but only one every 3 models can easily be assembled as a Chief. You will need a bit of creativity to kitbash them if you want to have flexibility and still maintain the unit minimum size required. Otherwise you will need 3 kits to obtain 1 unit and 1 hero of each type and one extra model that you can kitbash in either chief. One Scar-Veteran on Cold One from the last Saurus Knight model, with kitbash from your now-massive Seraphon bits collection. Some of the best casting in the game. While not on the level of the Disciples of Tzeentch, Seraphon have access to one of the most powerful wizard options in the game-The Slann Starmaster. They provide both a consistent casting base, and a powerful defensive base against magic being able to dispel up to three spells at infinite range with a +1 to the attempt. If you want to go even further the Seraphon’s only special character lord Kroak can cast and unbind 4 spells a turn!Start Collecting! Skinks makes starting a Skink based army of Seraphon super simple. Inside, you’ll find a Skink Starpriest to lead your forces, a unit of skirmishing Skinks to scout ahead of them, 3 swift Terradon Riders (also buildable as Ripperdactyl Riders!) and a Bastiladon – a dinosaur with a laser. Need we say more? If you’re somehow not convinced, it also saves you money compared to getting the kits separately – and contains an exclusive warscroll battalion warscroll to boot! Use the throne bits from the Troglodon to construct a throne appropriate to the Skink Starseer, and use magnets to attach the Skink from the Carnosaur. With a second throneless base made, it easily represents both Skink Wizards, affording you much flexibility in list buildilng. For Matched Play, these sprues provide enough parts to assemble a 10-model unit of Saurus Warriors with full command. Two Saurus Warriors will be left over. If you make the Saurus Guard conversion, you can assemble two 5-model units of Saurus Guard with full commands, or one 10-model unit of Saurus Guard with full command. Two Saurus "Guard" will be left over.

I recommend this thread ( http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/oldblood-sunblood-from-carnosaur-kit.19390/) for building a single model that is magnetized to represent either a Saurus Oldblood or Saurus Sunblood. Skinks! They're impossible not to love. These diminutive lizardmen are loved by canny generals for their speed, lore fans for their cunning and model-makers for just how inexplicably cute they are – so we've made it easier than ever to field a whole army of the little guys. As it stands Saurus do not represent the most competitive units as Slanns are the wizards that you need and the various Skinks units can do all the rest.Of course, despite his longevity, keep him away from the melee and protect him well against mortal wounds. Between the artefacts of power, Coalesced Slann can choose Itxi Grubs that heals 1 wound each hero phase and gives a +1 to cast, dispel and unbind. A Coalesced Saurus instead can bear Sotek’s Gaze that prevents enemy units with Wound characteristic of 1 and 2 from contesting objectives within 6″ of him. Like the new Start Collecting: Chaos Space Marines box, it’s a bit hard to evaluate this one effectively because it’s currently the only place to get Suppressors, which are an insanely good unit for Iron Hands and, to a lesser extent, Imperial Fists armies. That said, everything in this box except the Lieutenant is a solid addition to a competitive Space Marines army, and even the Lieutenant is serviceable in a pinch. Even if you could get Suppressors somewhere else, this box would still be an incredibly good value based on what’s in it.
