About this deal

However, not all racing games include this feature, especially those focused solely on traditional circuit racing or where handbrake use is not significant. In such cases, a handbrake may not be recognised by the game, or players might need to use workarounds or third-party software to map the handbrake's inputs to other functions. Initial impressions are certainly good. There is very little play side to side, which echoes the good build quality of this handbrake.

It’s customisable, too. The Handbrake’s “lever head” is mounted on an M10 thread and so, if you’re reasonably handly with a lathe (or have a friend with one) you can have some fun by producing your self-made head. You can set it as a sequential shifter or as a handbrake in either its Rally mode (lever in vertical position) or GT mode (lever in horizontal position). This makes it incredibly versatile and great if you're looking to save space and reduce the overall cost of your setup. Finally, the elastomers are replaceable polyurethane-based items. You can adjust the shift length of the brake and its stiffness to your liking. There’s in-built elastomer protection, too – so there should be no concerns about longevity! Simagic TB-1 Handbrake With their unique features, the best sim racing handbrakes can have extra gaming control. You don’t require to install a driver to use them. Connect the USB to your PC or Xbox One and start playing the game. You will definitely feel extra control in the game with this e brake for Xbox one. Longer life and Good ElasticityWith the use of Wilwood Master and Slave cylinders from real-life motorsport, it gives you the best feeling when in the simulator. A USB cable comes with the handbrake, and it works directly in-game totally plug and play. Measuring your inputs is a 100kg load cell sensor to accurately translate your movement to in-game pressure. At 100kg, this load cell isn’t as strong as the ones found in the Heusinkveld or Sim-Lab handbrakes, however, this is the cheapest of the three handbrakes. On the front face, or rear depending on which way you’re looking at it, there are two connection ports. You have a USB port which is the one you would use if connecting it directly to your PC as I have. And then there is an RJ port, which allows you to connect it directly to your MOZA wheel base via the Universal Hub. Buying a handbrake that can be adjusted to accommodate all of these mounting methods can help you use your handbrake in various scenarios without compromise. Handbrakes such as the Fanatec ClubSport and MOZA HBP can be adjusted in numerous ways to accommodate whichever handbrake configuration you desire. Compatibility

Compatibility-wise, this is a PC-only device, although at least the USB cable is included with the unit. Mounting choices are still not amazing, even at the top end of the scale. It seems to be an area where manufacturers across the board have room for improvement regarding sim handbrakes. Still, all those little niggly issues aside, if you want to truly immerse yourself into a game like Dirt Rally, Automobilista, or Richard Burns Rally, then this is the handbrake to get. Moza HBP Handbrake The Thrustmaster TSS Sparco Mod+, like the TH8A, is a multi-purpose device. However, this model offers an alternative setup, capable of being a sequential shifter or an analogue handbrake. The build quality and overall feeling of this piece of equipment are in a much higher class. Working with Sparco, Thrustmaster released the TSS; a close replica of actual Sparco gear you might find in a real race car. Thrustmaster TSS Sparco Mod+ One of the real benefits of this handbrake over the others is that it is compatible with both Xbox and PS5. The only other handbrake in this list that boasts that is the Thrustmaster Sparco Handbrake. Although not the most premium handbrake on the market, its dual capabilities are of course a plus, and for the price, it’s not a bad beginner’s handbrake. As per all other Thrustmaster accessories, you can use this with anything from their ecosystem, meaning it’s flexible and can work no matter your setup. Simagic TB-1 Handbrake

One thing that really strikes me about this handbrake that isn’t overly obvious in images is the sheer size of it. At 416mm tall, this is easily the largest handbrake I’m recommending. This lets you mount it fairly low down on your sim rig whilst still giving it a high reach much like a rally or drift handbrake. The idea of the Drive Hub is one that will be welcomed by most Xbox sim racers, as theoretically it solves an issue that has been frustrating console racers for years. However, as it is a third-party device, there is no proof that it will continue to keep up with software and hardware updates going forward. While it can be effective now, it may not be a futureproof option. Furthermore, this premium device offers a variety of mounting options, including one with an optional adapter plate that simplifies yaw adjustment. Altogether, the Heusinkveld Sim Handbrake delivers a well-rounded and top-tier sim racing experience, making it a standout choice for serious enthusiasts.

The adjustability of this sim racing handbrake is pretty good. There are different ways that you can mount the handbrake shaft which I’ve mentioned, but you can also adjust the stiffness of the handbrake as well. The handbrakes must be ergonomic design and comfortable to use. There must be a curvy design for a better grip on your hands. They must be easy to drag during intensive gaming hours. Rig Suitability Pulling the lever will give you more control over your car, especially when it becomes muscle memory. Buttons on wheels are not always placed in ideal locations, meaning you could well have to stretch your hand to activate the handbrake. This is not what you want to be doing when your car is at risk of flying over a cliff edge!

When you’ve got your sim racing rig, equipment and a platform of choice, you can begin to think about the accessories such as a sequential shifter, or handbrake.

As with most MOZA products, you can make some adjustments in the included Pit House software. With the handbrake, this is limited to adjusting the output curve. But this can be important when really fine-tuning the handbrake to your own requirements. In Meca’s own words: “…developed in cooperation with real rally drivers, thanks to which you will have the opportunity to experience the feeling of passing the hairpin through the handbrake.” The build quality in this XB1 handbrake is also incredible thanks to a full aluminium construction. There are a range of elastomers included to give you control over how soft or stiff your handbrake feels. Overall, this is an incredibly high-end handbrake at a respectable price point. If you are a fan of rallying or drifting and want to recreate the sheer fun of driving these cars then the answer is a definite yes.Lastly, you’ll want to make sure your handbrake is compatible with whatever platform you play your games on. This is likely to be more of an issue for console gamers, as most handbrakes are designed for PC usage only. A lot of handbrakes from big-name brands will be compatible with both PC and console or have a separate model for console use only. While you don’t have an additional manual or sequential gear shifter, you can still manually change gears in all sim racing games using paddle shifters on your steering wheel. This sim racing handbrake has been made with a new design and top-quality material. It possesses upgraded technology that is adaptable for many modern racing games. It has a hand-protective design that allows the gamer to use it comfortably. Flexible and Adjustable There aren’t many console-compatible handbrakes on the market The Best Sim Racing Handbrakes For Xbox Thrustmaster TSS Sparco Mod +
