About this deal

Breaking stereotypes. We are young women in an all male-dominated industry, sometimes you need to step up your game to be taken seriously. Believe in ourselves and take what we need to make our project happen. I am usually up early enough to get a hold of the Satryna European team. We have many internal follow up calls where we share our experiences and lessons. This helps us think of better ways to implement strategies to get to our customers.

Satryna is made from 100% Blue Weber agave sourced from the rich volcanic soil of Jalisco. After 12 years of nurturing, each agave is then carefully harvested, steamed for 24 hours, triple distilled then aged in oak barrels imported from Cognac and California. Triple distillation gives it that smooth finish but retains complexity. The Spirits Business held its annual Tequila & Mezcal Masters last month, where an experienced panel of judges uncovered some of the category’s best expressions available on the global market. I have several bars that I love. There is Artemisa in Mexico City with an amazing selection of distilled and great drinks as well as a super cool interior design also Ombra de vin in Milan which has an amazing concept and a delightful vibe. Everyone has a different way of celebrating Day of the Dead. Never forget your altar. Pictures of our friends and family who are not with us anymore, offer tequila, food, objects, candles and fill it with Color and Cempazuchil flowers. Tell us about your home town - where in Mexico are you from, what’s the vibe? Are there any cool bars you like to hit up?We have a custom of always shaking any bottle of any spirit before opening it so all the elements of the liquid are mixed.

Tasting tequila is an art form. Firstly, glass choice. Drink it from a Riedel Ouverture tequila glass (the only glass designated for tasting by the Tequila Regulatory Council). Secondly, instead of throwing it down your throat, take a small sip, swish it around your mouth for two seconds, breath in deeply and exhale out. Trust us, it works. Agave-based spirits have never been so highly sought after and there is some exceptional liquid now on the market. We round up the expressions that took home the top awards in our recent blind-tasting competition. SB presents award-winning bottlings from its Tequila & Mezcal Masters

Each has different characteristics, ranging from the fresh and citrusy (there’s a reason you shot with lime and salt), to the more complex styles that display caramel and oak. Broadly speaking, blanco is for shots, anejo is strictly for sipping (like you would with whisky), and reposado is a good option for either. How we test tequila Our tequila's inspiration and soul are derived from the tradition of the festival of Dia de los Muertos - The Day of The Dead. These bottlings are not necessarily the most affordable expressions, but each one has been judged to offer excellent quality for consumers within their respective categories.

You currently have a Blanco and an Añejo Crystalino - what’s next for Satryna? Will new products also follow a family recipe, or have you been experimenting with new recipes and techniques?

I was 15 years old and home alone. I decided to invite my girlfriends over and I stole one of my parents’ bottles! I got in so much trouble.
