About this deal

they sell one but only for a specific machine, while they are freely available, and recommended, but all by third party manufacture. There’s a hefty-feeling portafilter (this is where the ground coffee goes) and, unlike its rivals, Sage bundles the Bambino Plus with a stainless steel milk jug, a coffee tamper, and its own “Razor” tool for gauging how much coffee to use, so you don’t need to splash out on accessories. It’s also nice to see a water filter supplied as standard. This slots into the bottom of the water tank and makes sure your espressos are scale-free. MANUAL MICROFOAM MILK TEXTURING: The powerful steam wand performance allows you to hand texture microfoam milk that enhances flavour and enables creation of latte art It is very easy to assume that new always means better, and in some ways, I think this is the case with the ThermoJet, but in some ways, possibly not.

The easiest way to describe the Oracle is the Dual Boiler with an integrated grinder and an onboard Barista, and this is Sage's characteristically innovative answer to fully automatic bean to cup machines. It's not fully assisted like the Barista Touch Impress. That machine has assistance/automation from start to finish, from plugging in the machine, all the way through making espresso and steaming milk. The Express Impress just has the assistance where espresso is concerned. MY BREW SETTING: Allows you to customise parameters like bloom time, brew temperature, and flow rate to suit your coffee needs; create a perfect coffee that is floral, fruity, earthy, and so on to match your preference The Barista Express is the only machine in Sage's range to have an OPV limit of approx 13-14 bars (I've tested this, on my gear it's showing around 13.5 bars), and this appears to be simply that this slightly higher pressure works better with dual walled pressurised baskets, and they expect most people using the Barista Express to be using mainstream coffee beans, for which they recommend the dual walled baskets.

I really like the Express Impress, and I'd actually recommend it over the Barista Express to anyone who is planning on using freshly roasted coffee beans.

The Bambino Plus is a handsome little machine. It stands 310mm tall and, since it’s only 195mm wide and 320mm deep, doesn’t take up much room on the kitchen worktop. Stainless steel curves attractively all around the sides and the ridged surface on top doesn’t just look natty, it gently heats up to keep your coffee cups warm.I love the LCD shot timer which also tells you when you're at the preinfusion stage and at the shot pulling stage and the fact that if you want to you can really simply adjust the brew temp, and that it's so easy on this machine to get into the cleaning cycles. The 54mm double basket is made for around 19g of coffee. How much coffee you'll actually have in the basket, by weight, once you've used the Razor tool will depend on the grind. I always weigh my shots, even when using the razor tool, and the weight actually gives an indication of how well dialed in you are.

Don't do what I've heard of some doing, though, and take the internal grind to the finest setting from day one, because you'll just end up with the burrs hitting each other (which makes a slightly disconcerting strained motor sound), which isn't great.

In addition to the dual boilers, PID (temperature control) and heated group, the Oracle handles grinding, dosing and tamping, and steams the milk for you to your required temperature and texture.

So when you first use your machine, it'll guide you through setting up and priming, you literally don't need to touch the manual. It'll then take you into the first use tutorial, which is similar but more in-depth than the barista guidance you'll get when using it on a daily basis. It comes with a milk jug, a tamper, and the Razor tool, which is a prep tool specific to Sage machines that ensures a level surface and also makes sure you always have the correct headspace – the gap between the coffee and the shower screen, the part that the water comes through. INCLUDED ACCESSORIES: Razor Dose Trimming Tool 54mm Stainless Steel Portafilter, 1 & 2 cup Single & Dual Wall Filter Baskets, Coffee Scoop, Integrated Tamper, Stainless Steel Milk Jug, Cleaning Disc & Tablets, Brush Tool & Allen Key, Water Filter & Filter Holder As I mentioned earlier, the Barista Pro is really more designed towards the home barista side of the market, for people who're going to be using freshly roasted beans and the single walled baskets, and who don't want the assistance that the Barista Express Impress or Touch Impress brings to the table. So for the sake of all like me, who wanted great coffee, but are honest when describing a problem, warn other that Sage want you to buyAm I saying that there's nobody these days who the Barista Express is a good match for? Absolutely not! Sage are smart, if they thought this was the case they wouldn't bother continuing to manufacture it.
