The Rubik’s Cube was invented in 1974 by Ernõ Rubik, a Hungarian architecture professor. Rubik later used the Cube as a learning exercise to teach his students about 3-dimensional spaces. Little did he know his “Magic Cube” (as he originally named it) would become one of world’s most famous puzzles of all time! But oh, the looks on my friends' faces when they attempt to solve it! It's a combination of determination, confusion, and the occasional "Why did I agree to this?" expression that makes my heart swell with sadistic glee. It’s a community builder; Rubik’s Cube enthusiasts converge with other aficionados, thereby improving their social life. I feel like everyone has had their fair share of Rubik Cubes in their lifetime. It’s just one of those toys that seemingly has been around forever and will never go away. We have had a bunch of Rubik Cubes in our household, even, but we have never had a Rubik’s Phantom, which almost looks like a solved Rubik when left out on your counter, but a bit of playing will reveal if it really is solved or not. I keep saying "I'll never buy another official Rubik's Puzzle" And then what happens... they bring out another cool concept -.- I think almost everyone will have at least heard of the Rubik’s cube and most people will have at some point had a play around and tried to solve one. I remember having a go as a child but I never could solve one. Even now I wouldn’t know where to begin. My son, on the other hand, is a whizz at solving the classic 3×3 Rubik’s cube and can now solve one in under two minutes. He still keeps trying to beat his time though! The Rubik’s Phantom is an ideal present for Halloween especially as an alternative to unhealthy sweets and chocolates. It is fun, quirky and will bring many hours of entertainment.
