About this deal

The AF systems of the D600 and D610 are blind in the dark. They often will just hang up and not focus in very dim light. If you noticed a weird flare with a brilliant light source along the top of your frame, Nikon will fix it for free.

The Nikon D750 uses the same type 51-point AF system as many other Nikons like the D810, D700, D4 and D3. It is a newer version of the system, it’s called MultiCam 3500 II. It has got the same modes like the D810 and D4s that offer things like group AF which is really handy for action shooting. But unlike the D810 and D4s the D750 can focus in even lower light. Where the D810 and D4s go down to –2 EV the Nikon D750 can even focus in light as low a –3 EV. I can’t tell you how much or how little light that is, but I can tell you the D750 will keep focussing in light where you can barely make out your subject with your own eyes. Compared to my Nikon Df that uses the older 39-point AF system that is rated to –1 EV it is a night and day difference (pun intended). The Nikon D750 does come with a stupid AF-assist light, but I’ve turned that off on the day I got the camera. I hate having a small light on the front of my camera lighting up on its own, and because of the great lowlight focusing on the camera it doesn’t even need that light (The Df could use something like that, but that doesn’t have one. Go figure!). I have a lot of love for my Nikon D750In the image above I’ve pushed the shadows to +100 on the right. Not pretty, but it gives you an idea of what the D750 is capable of. Wi-Fi It's a small camera as FX Nikons go. The grip is very thin, but still fits well in my big American hands.

Each pixel now adds a white dot, in addition to the traditional RGB dots, to allow greater brightness.

Lens choices are different. If one brand has a unique lens you really like, like Nikon's 28-300mm VR for which Canon has no direct replacement at a similar size, weight and price, go Nikon. If you need a zoom full frame fisheye, it's Canon.

Ryan plays a flight simulator on mom's iMac, 02 October 2014. ( Nikon D750, Portrait Picture Mode with +1 saturation, Nikon 50/1.4G, f/1.4 at 1/125 at Auto ISO 2,000, Perfectly Clear V2.) bigger. There are additional updates and new features added to the Nikon D780 that whilst not groundbreaking, is still worth mentioning. As I'm primarily a stills shooter, at the end of the day, image quality and AF reliability (especially in low light) are the two things that matter most to me and the D750 holds its ground in both regards to the Z6; all the touchscreens and in-body IS systems in the world can't change that. For these reasons I'll be holding on the my D750 and waiting at least another generation before making the move to Nikon mirrorless. The grip on the camera is great. It is big, deep and padded with grippy rubber to give you a secure grip. When I’m using one of my heavier lenses like the Sigma 24-105mm F4 ART or my Nikon AFS 105mm F2.8 Micro I’ll automatically grab my D750 over my Df, just because the grip is so much better for handling heavy lenses. Despite being the smallest Full Frame Nikon I think the grip is even more comfortable than the one on the Nikon D800/ D810. The grip is very deep for a smaller camera. Perfect for holding it with bigger lenses. Viewfinder The AF boxes are dark LCDs that are side-lit in red in the dark. It's not as good as transilluminated LED AF zones, but you have to step up to a D4S for that.

Buy. Sell. Trade. Create.

If you keep one EN-EL15 in your D750 and a second in the grip, it will sequence between them seamlessly. Connectivity -Bluetooth has been added to the D780 allowing low-power image transfer, and connectivity to Nikon's SnapBridge app. Like the D750 Wi-Fi is built-in. YRGB (luminance, reg green and blue) adds a fourth white dot to the traditional three-dot RGB triad, allowing for greater brightness.
