About this deal

Bishie Sparkle: Used for comedic effect along with Something about a Rose to play up Yoi's princely behavior and image whenever she is acting particularly chivalrous. This is the art style that I really love especially when it comes to shojo manga. I don't have to say much, this art style is everything I need to make me interested to read the story. It is so neat and clean, and all the characters look really good! If you are searching for shojo manga with pretty art style, this should be in your list! The art style is simplistic and perfectly captured the scenes. I love the clean panels and layouts making me as a reader appreciate the details and I just love reading them. Yoi Takaguchi is tall, smart, pretty and has an awesome figure, except that, she has more girl-fans and was called a prince and described as like the hero of a shojo manga. When an incident led her to Ichimura, a senpai above her year and he thought him as a beautiful "guy". One thing led to another and soon, ichimura's curiosity for Yoi and his behaviour somehow melted Yoi too. Its a story of a girl who finally felt beautiful and a guy who wants someone to see him for who he is.

Demelza; Sarah; Darkstorm (February 20, 2022). "Have you read this one…? We recommend some excellent manga that you might have missed…". Anime UK News. Archived from the original on May 22, 2022 . Retrieved April 8, 2022.It’s not that Yoi violently rejects her prince status, and it wouldn’t be accurate to refer to it as just a persona, as something separate from a “truer” more internal, feminine self. Rather, Yoi just has some misgivings and complicated feelings about gender that aren’t fully formed. In other words, she’s a relatable young character navigating the interplay between the self as outwardly known and the self as inwardly felt. The great range in her facial expressions throughout further strengthens this as well. Something about a Rose: Like many Bifauxnen and prince types before her, Yoi is often depicted with roses and Bishie Sparkle when she is coming off or doing something particularly princely.

Single Girl Seeks Most Popular Guy: Ichimura is well known and swooned over in school as the other prince (despite being at the school for a shorter amount of time, Yoi is the primary prince) because of his good looks and boatloads of money. While Yoi tries to rebuff his advances at first, she ends up falling for his charms and decides to pursue a relationship with him. Mateo, Alex (December 6, 2021). "Demon Slayer Tops Da Vinci Manga Ranking for 2nd Consecutive Year". Anime News Network. Archived from the original on December 8, 2021 . Retrieved April 8, 2022. Stalker with a Crush: After Yoi tells her friends that Ichimura told her father he wants to date her so he can stare at her face all the time, her friends joke that he sounds like a stalker. Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: Yoi is dark haired and naturally a bit withdrawn and reserved, which gives her a cool and somewhat distant vibe. Paired with her more boyish looks and consideration towards others, girls in particular, she comes off as a Bifauxnen, much to her annoyance. The Casanova: Ichimura is introduced to Yoi through the rumor that "the number of girls he's made cry is already in the triple digits" to highlight his ladykiller, playboy ways.

Yoi is one of the school’s princes; deep voiced, handsome… and also a girl. She can’t seem to escape her looks, but a chance encounter with the school’s other prince, Ichimura, means that there just might be a chance of somebody finally seeing her the way she wants to be seen… Again, this whole volume was just super refreshing and deeply enjoyed it! I'm going to have to keep an eye out for this series because I love the premise and how it's a "different" kind of shojo! Definitely recommend! Instead of interpreting "Yoi" literally as "evening", you can interpret it as "Yoi", the first name of the heroine of the story, thus changing the meaning to be "The Beautiful Yoi's Moon" and referring more explicitly to Yoi and Ichimura's relationship. This reading is further encouraged because in chapter 3, Yoi compares Ichimura to "the moon reflecting off the water": elusive and hard to grasp, despite appearing so bright and clear. Ichimura as "the moon" is also supported by his first name being Kouhaku, which can be read and understood as "a pale yellowish white", like the glow of the moon. I Just Want to Be Normal: Said word for word by Yoi to Ichimura when he says that she really looked like a real prince defending a girl in need. Yoi explains that she never wanted to be a prince or a hero, it's just a role that others have projected onto her. Ichimura counters that it's good to be a princely girl, because being so, she doesn't have to adhere to all of the gender expectations that other girls must contend with.
