Los Angeles, CA, September 1, 2022 —BOSS announces the GA-FC EX, a new foot controller for select BOSS amplifiers. The GA-FC EX provides enhanced floor control features and expanded functionality for supported amplifiers, which currently includes four models in the Katana MkII series. The Version 2 update brings powerful new DI enhancements to the Waza Tube Amp Expander. Speaker impulse response support has been greatly increased, with the number of user IR slots extended from 4 to 32. More microphone choices are also available for the built-in cabs, including a new ribbon mic type, three dynamic/ribbon mic blends, and two different room mic variations. Housed in a rugged metal chassis, the GA-FC EX features six heavy-duty footswitches that provide direct control of ten unique functions. It maintains the simple setup and intuitive workflow of the standard BOSS GA-FC Foot Controller while offering new features for greater performance flexibility. I got this with a Boss Katana and I do not know how you would use the amplifier without it. it realy opens up the options of the amp and increases its playability.Actually, the answer is much more logical than you might think. It pays to have maximum functionality close at hand if you’re using your 100W Katana as an all-in-one solution with 60+ onboard effects. Three expression pedals provide incredible creative freedom without resorting to unnecessary preset changes or pedal tap dancing. Here are a few ways you could run them: The f.s itself is very well made, built from sturdy metal (aluminum?). The switches are good quality and feel very solid and reassuring under foot. The unit should stand up to regular gigging provided it?s not overly abused. If an item can not be repaired, a similar alternative product or cash discount (as defined in this policy) will be offered Anyway, my overall view and opinion is that this is a great footswitch, very well built and sturdy and adds great flexibility to using the amplifier, especially when gigging. I can definitely recommend it to anyone using a Boss amp, if you can stomach the price. Note, this f.s does NOT work with the 50 watt version of the Katana amp.

Strong and durable. Boss products are well known for their endless reliability, and the Boss GA-FC is no exception. With a robust design and high quality switches, you can be sure that this footswitch will perform gig after gig. Not only is it built like a tank, it also has bright LED indictor lights to show you which channel or effect you have selected. This is incredibly useful when performing on dark stages. A true gigging solution. For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs. First-of-its-kind tube amp command center, built with Waza expertise and the Tube Logic design approach Connecting the optional GA-FC foot controller puts full-throttle performance control at your feet. Via a single TRS cable, you have instant access to the 10 rigs, plus real-time control of delay, tap tempo, solo/EQ, effects loop on/off, and amp channel switching. You can even control levels by connecting optional expression pedals to the GA-FC. The Waza Tube Amp Expander also supports FS-series footswitches, plus extensive MIDI control for more advanced setups. Effects to the Max Balanced XLR line outputs (mono and L/R stereo) for connecting to FOH console, stage monitors, and recording devices

The GA-FC EX can be used with other BOSS and Roland amplifiers that support the GA-FC, but only standard GA-FC control functions are available. The Waza Tube Amp Expander’s advanced reactive load section completely eliminates these artifacts, allowing you to experience your amp’s true cranked-up sound and interactive feel while controlling the volume to suit any situation. A key feature is the Resonance-Z and Presence-Z panel controls, which optimize the all-important impedance interaction with your amp’s output transformer. Selecting from sixteen different settings, you can make your amp behave and respond exactly as if it were connected to your favorite speaker cab. Any tube guitar amp up to 150 watts is supported, from vintage combos to modern high-gain heads. Bigtime Rig Control But there's more. If you want to have real time control of your amp's volume and drive, you can connect any compatible footswitch to the corresponding 1/4 inch input and use it to control that function. This gives you total creative freedom to alter the sound of your amp while you play - something you can't do without this controller. With easy switching and flexible control, this is the ultimate accessory that will transform your amp. Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided.

Set the mode switch to EXPAND and connect an additional GA-FC EX or a standard GA-FC for even more floor control. With twice the footswitches, you have instant access to all memories and effects at once. Operate Two Amps In use this thing is as easy as chips, simply plug it in with the included standard guitar lead, and you?re up and running. The functionality is very impressive for such a simple looking pedal. You can access 8 presets (using the Katana 100) plus the current panel setting giving you a total of 9 different sounds instantly at your feet! And if that?s not enough, you can also turn on and off the individual stomp effects within each preset which makes this f.s extremely flexible indeed. For example while in any of the 8 presets you can see what effects you have assigned to that preset and turn them on and off just by tapping their individual switch. No need to move to another preset just to get rid off the delay, simply turn it off with a tap of its own switch. Refer to user guide for specifics! Realized with Waza R&D expertise and the ever-evolving Tube Logic approach, the Waza Tube Amp Expander seamlessly complements and extends your tube amp, and all without affecting the tone and response that made you choose it in the first place. The initial concept for this unique device came during the development of the flagship Waza amplifier head. To comprehensively test and refine the amp’s AC power voltage and output circuitry, the BOSS team devised a custom load box with capabilities reaching far beyond those in any commercially available unit. This innovative design performed so successfully that it became the logical foundation for developing a next-generation toolkit for the modern tube amp player. Seeing how much has been added to the Katana Amps recently with the MKII edition expanded features, across Boss Tone Studio, and Tone Exchange etc. - the idea was to get even more granularity of control out of the Foot Controller format - which is how and why we arrived at the GA-FX-EX - essentially a massively expanded version of the original. It won’t be replacing the GA-FC which still remains as the mainstay offering - but rather it will offer a lot more smarts and enhanced control abilities over and above the standard edition - for those amps its fully compatible with.

The mode selector on the GA-FC EX opens up powerful control capabilities with supported Katana MkII models. Double Your Footswitches

Tube Amp Expander

Filled with deep control options, the Waza Tube Amp Expander is a dream command center for both stage and studio. Ten different rig setups can be stored in the unit, and each includes your custom effects and EQ settings, cab/IR selections, effects loop on/off, MIDI program change (for controlling external MIDI effects), and amp control status (if you have an amp that supports channel switching). Rigs can be recalled with a panel knob, and additional controls are provided for reverb and other functions. There’s also a Write button for saving minor adjustments in the heat of a gig. Note: Not compatible with the Katana 50 MkII. Roland GA-FC Foot Controller for GA-112 and GA-212 Combo Amplifiers Features at a Glance: Solid metal construction with string foot switches. The cable inputs are also very solid in construction. Most Katana Amp users should be familiar with the Standard 6 footswitch GA-FC floor-based Foot Controller - which has been around since before the first Katana Amps were introduced in September of 2016. The idea was of course that you could switch between 4 Channels and Panel Mode and Two routes of Loops, Reverbs, Boost settings etc.
