About this deal

In short the new CPS System/Citadel App is great because it removes a lot of unneeded thinking for someone at my skill level. I’m no Lupe, Richp, Brin or Booley but I feel that an everyday painter can have some insights on a review for other everyday painters. Thicker than the VGC coats and Instar Matte but not necessarily in a bad way if that makes any sense. A combination of being a high quality product in a nice dropper bottle give a: Vallejo Game Colour Dark Green: 4/5 Starscreams.

Now, with more time to muse on it I wonder if the heater I have on during winter is drying out my apartment and causing some of the paints to lose moisture a hell of a lot faster. I'd say just pick one that you can find easily and readily - but if you're trying to match an existing one, that'll be a bit more tough.

Wherever possible we will work with you on items that have been purchased incorrectly or on items you are dissatisfied with upon receipt. It’s still not as precise as the layer -> wash -> touch up -> highlights 1/2 method but it takes a hell of a lot less time.

All Citadel paints are non-toxic, water-based acrylic that are designed for use on plastic, metal, and resin Citadel miniatures. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. You can do a 3rd layer with ease if needed after the wash, which I would say you will be doing if you go with this green. Brush Matters: Choose the right brush size for the area you’re painting to maintain control and precision. We will resolve the issue by sending you replacement items or parts wherever we can and prefer to do this rather than provide a refund.Hold spray 12 inches from model and use short passes over the uncovered areas until the model is covered. Which means that if you’re regular technique is to wash, tidy and black-line a miniature (as per above) then this the paint for you. Out of all the paints this is the one where I could say it would work with 2 thin coats, no touch up needed. It also ‘felt’ the best on the pallet and brush which is the kind of thing you notice when you hopping from dark green paint to dark green paint from 3 different manufactures.

Which looks pretty rad, in fact it looks real close to what I remember the old Citadel paint looking like. If you require a service that is fully tracked you must either select the Courier or the International Tracked option. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. All we ask is the product still be in its original packaging and you have your proof of purchase and we'll be happy to help. If you want to know why I just typed that sentence you should look at Lupe’s excellent Throwing Shade Part 1: An Actually Helpful Guide to the Citadel Paint System if you want to know more about it.

The green is highlighted on all the models with Warboss Green and then hit with a second highlight of Skarsnik Green as this isn’t as jarring to my eye as the official GW method of Warpstone to Moot Green. Full tracking of what you have read so you can skip to your first unread post, easily see what has changed since you last logged in, and easily see what is new at a glance.

After the second coat, we get additional info that it does indeed do the whole ‘BASE’ function well. It turns out Vallejo have expanded their range to include fantasy colours and now do Dark Green as a spray (as well as Sick Green and Goblin Green). After use, rotate the can so it is upside down and spray until clear, this reduced the chance of nozzle blockages. For our contrast entrant we are just going to look at the base, 1st layer and finished product as a bit of a bonus. Formulated to precisely match the colours in the existing Citadel Paint range, these paints are designed for use with your airbrush*.

The high pigment count of these paints means they provide excellent coverage, giving you a base of rich colour to paint over. They’ll produce a run of a certain color, it sells out, and maybe later another run of that color will be made. As with all of the Citadel paints, it is a non-toxic, water-based acrylic paint designed for use on plastic, metal, and resin Citadel miniatures. Crafted for perfection, each shade promises a smooth, consistent coverage that sets the stage for layering, highlighting, and shading.
