When I started reading this book I couldn't imagine what would happen in this story, and after a few pages I was loving the characters and enjoying this so-particular plot. After all, with a title like 'Marry Me Tomorrow', how can anyone let that go by them without reading it? It wasn’t a good enough reason to let a stranger into her house and for most of it she resented her dad anyway.

The act of inflicting harm and the subsequent suicide ("stick the barrel to your head") suggest a toxic and destructive dynamic between the couple. And when her excited mum announces that she's coming to stay, Emily can think of only one man to play the part: gorgeous ex-soldier, Sam. Every time we go see a movie I take my polaroid with me and get a picture of him with the tickets or next to the poster so that we can have the memories recorded. Also, her travel guide to Moraitika and Messonghi in Corfu and the Greek recipes are unmissable if you love all things Greek!I'll admit, I surrendered to this book and became its page mistress after reading the first couple of pages! I’d been writing a short story about a homeless boy at the time, and the idea for Emily asking homeless Sam to pose as her husband while her mother visits stemmed from there. I just love him and I'm so proud of him and I want the whole world to know how amazing my best friend is. A delightful Christmas read that will pull at your heartstrings and make you believe in happy endings.
