Personally, I’m tired of people feeling ashamed of what they’re into just because they’re afraid someone might make fun of their love of bedazzled ranch dressing bottles or because they watched Kylie’s ten-minute pregnancy video more than once. Instead, she embraces who she is in VanderPump, for better or worse, and advises skirting responsibility and embracing obstinance as traits in “strong women. So let’s stop taking ourselves so seriously and get back to basic—because I bet even Dame Judi Dench is probably out there at the local pub living her Next Level Basic best life.Her talking about all-day pool parties and insisting that La Mer is the best facial moisturizer made me roll my eyes.

Writing about confidence and teaching others how to be confident is an admirable task, and definitely not an easy one. You get a full chapter walking you back on everything she’s laid a foundation for in previous chapters and how her “next level basic” manifesto has ultimately led to her fall from public grace. So, you start to gather that this book is about coming into her own as a “strong woman,” and that her unabashed, F-U mentality is her contribution as a role model to women.I got to 4 wheel drive the in-laws’ Jeep Rubicon “Rubi” at Rocky Mountain National Park, definitely a fun and somewhat dangerous way to spend a vacation but I enjoyed every minute of it! But this book was just dumb, I couldn't even get through it all and it's only like 4 hours long on audio.

Men never greet each other like this, and I wish women didn't put such value on the shallow and being fashion sheep and recognized each other for true accomplishments. I'm a HUGE Vanderpump rules fan so for me I was going to read this regardless of the style or content of the book. I get shit for my love for reality TV, and frequently hear about how it's ruining the world and making people dumber, or whatever other nonsense assholes like to say.If you want to laugh and enjoy someone being absolutely real with you, then I encourage you to pick up this book. So again, for those of you who want to another way to laugh at how idiotic and hypocritical Stassi is, this book will satisfy you and give you more depth to the delusion that is Stassi Schroeder. Yes, I love watching people being ridiculous on TV, but I also read almost 300 books last year, and have a college degree, so y'all can kiss my ass. I love the way she added humor into her telling people not to care what others think about what they do or like. I understand I can change my preference through my account settings or unsubscribe directly from any marketing communications at any time.

Maybe the problem (or at least part of it) was me picking up this book without even knowing who the author was, or what Vanderpump rules is (I think I got the show name right? This book is not written by the Stassi who once threatened to send an acid-soaked dildo to her enemy, and that’s a real shame. I'm an introverted book nerd who would rather get punched in the face than blast my personal life onto the screens of millions of people.

I feel like this is a main point of Next Level Basic, and I appreciate the sentiments that Stassi expressed in the book.
