About this deal

V.P (Water Vapor Permeability index) of 65% and has been tested to withstand a column of water (hydrostatic head) >10,000mm. After walking through brush and around abandoned irrigation canals for two hours, I was just about to get back on the main trail when I came up to the edge of a beaver pond. I find Sealskinz are good but they always spring a leak in the first half dozen or so times I wear them. Perfect to be used on their own for walking, running, etc or as a liner to give a heat boost underneath your sailing, cycling, motorbike, skiing and other socks/boots. Warm and waterproof although after a year of use one has developed a pin prick hole in the toe letting in a little water but it’s hardly a torrent.

give up on waterproof trail running shoes forever, use normal non-waterproof ones when it’s wet (and dry), get wet feet - be sad (and cold! My feet were wet for 17 hours each day, but by keeping them dry and clean at night, I was at least able to avoid problems. There are countless styles, ranging from thin, low versions for runners to high insulated socks for hikers and sailors.

Over four caminos, I found that wearing light, microfiber liner socks with thicker Smart Wool outer socks for cushioning, wicked most of the water from my feet, while providing excellent friction protection and cushioning. The only soaking-wet socks I have ever hike in have been merino (SW Adrenaline Light Hikers), and they seemed to soak up lots of water. Extra extra snowflake details: NB Minimus shoes don't work for me at all because of the really tight heel stitching — I almost got blisters just from walking around the REI shoe department. I had no sock issues and no blisters, but man did they fill with sand at the Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon.I need footwear for the out-of-doors across that's appropriate for at least three seasons, if not four. Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. I think that if the cut of them had been closer to my foot shape it would have helped a lot, but everyone's foot shape is a bit different and I imagine that trying to produce a range of socks with such a wide range of shapes would not have been cost effective.
