About this deal

Just stories of how many women wanted him, how much dirty money he made, cheating on his wife, dodgy deals, meeting George Michael. Having been a regular visitor to Ibiza and also stayed at Pikes, I knew of him and great to read his story. I always had a decent sort with me, but that wasn’t an extra cost, I always counted the girls within the running costs. I questioned how much of his recounting of the ‘beautiful women and men’ he ‘bedded’ was actually true.

He'd decided to set his mind to being extremely wealthy and living the life of a playboy before inventing something very much like the black plastic menu board with movable letters so beloved of the British cafe, making a very pretty penny in the process. The iconic hotelier reflects on a fast life of hedonism and the globe-trotting backstory that influenced his set-up of pioneering Balearic boho bolthole, Pikes.HE was the sex-mad playboy who provided a tropical retreat for A-list celebrities to indulge their wildest fantasies. Under Tony’s management it soon became a glamorous celebrity bolthole for the likes of Freddie Mercury, Grace Jones, Julio Iglesias and perhaps most famously, George Michael.

Safe to say he too can say he’s lived quite the life many people do not get to experience by seeing the world like he has. Unfortunately i found myself getting very bored after the 8 gazillion mentions of how many women he’s slept with, how big and amazing his cock was and his sexual double standards on women that cheated on him. Seems a bit of a fantasist - how somebody so constantly drugged up can remember half the things he supposedly does amazes me. The narration of this story is great, and the stories about the rich and famous especially Grace Jones and Kenny Everett’s are shocking and entertaining.A very different and interesting autobiography about someone whose lifestyle and vivacity should have made for a much shorter book, but somehow he continued to live through it all. maybe he had a better relationship than what the book led on, but he sounded like a horrible deadbeat dad. Inspirational for those who want to live life differently, a bit shocking in parts for those who don't! Personally I’d have preferred to sacrifice hearing about some of Tony’s pre-Ibiza escapades to have more of the book given over to additional wild tales from Pikes. Ibiza legend who founded legendary celeb hangout Pikes Ibiza and helped turn island into party paradise.

Great story's told by great man but definitely not for the faint-hearted (in a good way) and you definitely wont get board and it only gets better by the page :) anyway great book definitely one of my favorites now! The constant references to birds, knockers, good sorts and shagging his mates girlfriends could be a little bit wearing for some, especially in the current climate as an attempt is quite rightly being made to clear out the casual and not so casual sexism that has plagued society since ever.I don’t think Mr Pike is telling the complete truth about how he made his money but this is definitely worth a listen.

I loved the way this man enjoyed his life to the full despite pissing off a lot of people along the way and not caring to much about it. To me Tony Pike comes across as a warm individual with a lot of love to give ,to both men and women of the world, and although I was in Ibiza my one big regret is that I didnt visit Pikes . Ibiza legend who founded legendary celeb hangout Pikes Ibiza and helped turn island into party paradise”. However, it seems that he does genuinely love the women who have been part of his life and is most likely just being honest and a bit clumsy with his words. Grace Jones is left to contradict his version of events without him getting pissy or argumentative about it. A book was recently released discussing the life and times of one of Ibiza's most prolific figures, a worthy tale not often told.
