It really smells natural from the beginning to the end, which I appreciated VERY MUCH, because 99% of all other perfumes I tried smells very different at the end (base notes) and I really disliked it. Based on the fragrance notes, I would have expected a perfume in the style of Goutal's Eau du Sud or Aeroplane by Detaille, but in my perception Citron Citron is mainly candied lemon - probably an effect of the sweet lime combined with the other citrus notes.

It leans a little too masculine end of the unisex spectrum to become a personal favourite - I like a bit more sweetness to my citrus.It's okay for the first 20 minutes or so but fades faster than a rain drop on a hot pavement leaving behind something that's perfectly respectable but barely perceptible.

Just boils away after 45 minutes max to an even briefer encounter with some nice, slightly-spicy, very discreet cedar for maybe another quarter to half hour.Agreed with reviewers, who note that Citronx2 leans slightly masculine, and the supporting mint-family, woods, oakmoss, and cardamom make a spectacular composition. Citrus fragrances are fresh and traditionally loved by everyone – they feel bright, exuberant and uplifting. It would also be a delicious holiday scent, but I choose to zoom some warm-weather zip into a dull London January.

The fragrance opens up with notes of lime, orange and Sicilian lemon, followed by a heart of mint, basil, marjoram and thyme, before drying down on a base of spices, cedar, oakmoss and cardamom. The heart notes are nice fresh and I feel the mint well balanced without reminding me of toothpaste.The fragrance opens with zesty lemons, oranges and limes that yank you out of sleepiness, moodiness or stagnancy and buoy things up. I took a punt on this having heard a woman raving about how fresh and lemony this smelt on a celebrity.
