About this deal

I was hoping that this comic would help to elevate them and give them a bit higher profile, a bit more agency. Warhammer is an exciting sci-fi universe as it plunges readers into a galaxy where war is the norm, religion is extreme, and violence is always the right choice. Here is a group of highly capable women fighting and dying on the front lines, in the very most dangerous warzones in the galaxy. We haven't seen the third story announced yet, but if they continue to give creators like GrØnbekk the keys to the kingdom, existing fans and newbies alike will gravitate towards these stories. A squad of Adepta Sororitas, led by Canoness Veridyan arrive on planet Siscia to retrieve a lost Inquisitorial Acolyte and put down a heretical uprising.

It's no-holds-barred action, mystery and daemons galore as the all-female military force lets bolters blaze and flamers scorch in this all-new saga!

The larger purpose of the planet gets a handy data page, but it’s still tricky to honestly know what is going on here. We discover these are not merely Nuns with Guns but soldiers of faith who occasionally find that faith tested to the breaking point.

And while it does feel like a healthy knowledge of the Warhammer universe and its characters would make this a richer reading experience, there's still enough here to scratch that violent war-loving itch. The main attraction of 40k is the miniatures, but there are also many video games, board games, books, ect.The comic is designed to be an introduction into the world of 40K, and by and large it does a very fine job. But there are also nuns — very, very violent nuns — and this week those fightin’ nuns get their own comic book. Outside of comic journalism, I am the artist of many weird pictures, and the guitarist of many heavy riffs. Even the somewhat tawdry alternate cover featuring art borrowed from John Blanche’s second edition sourcebook, with the Canonness proudly presenting her glistening, four-inch, ceramite and adamantine heels to the camera … it’s fine. Recounting various adventures of the incredibly old and angry-looking Chapter Master of the Ultramarines, that series landed pretty well, all told – clearly well enough for Marvel and GW to green-light further projects, in any case.

And while it does feel like a healthy knowledge of the Warhammer universe and its characters would make this a richer reading experience, there’s still enough here to scratch that violent war-loving itch. Imperial Guards, Adeptus Mechanicus, Orks, Necrons, Taus, Eldars, Inquisitors, Horus Heresy, etcetera etcetera. It’s no-holds-barred action, mystery, and daemons galore as the all-female fighting force lets bolters blaze and flamers scorch in this all-new saga! It seems like only yesterday that we were announcing the groundbreaking arrival of a Warhammer 40,000 comic, doesn’t it?You’ll never see a Space Marine mourning, likely because they are literally manufactured to know no fear. A pro and a con of Warhammer comics is how deep this lore goes, and how the creators navigate that to make it understandable to unfamiliar readers.

Both a pro and a con of Warhammer comics is how deep this lore goes, and how the creators navigate that to make it understandable to unfamiliar readers. A recent short story in White Dwarf magazine took great care to talk about all the women in uniform fighting and dying on the front lines.Combined with the colors of Arif Prianto, the grim darkness of the far future is brought to life in a style you've never seen before! As a collector of comics and graphic novels it was disappointing to receive a new book that was at a worse quality than some second hand comics that I have brought in the past. When I heard of the Sisters of Battle series coming out, I was so stoked because I love Warhammer, and I loved this book. Good place to start for anyone new to warhammer 40k, and a good place to start for anyone wanting to know about the Sisters of Battle.
