About this deal

When I put him to bed on a night, I stay with him and just keep my hand on his chest/ hold his hand and he just falls to sleep. I was talking to my doctor who just had a baby and she told me that she’s very strict when it comes to routine, and it’s all or nothing type thing. Just wondering if anyone has used it or if about to start maybe we could use this as a support thread haha. An informal sleep chat represented by a 30 minute zoom meeting to help you gain insights and suitable from birth to 6 years. Honestly her book did nothing for us, except scare the hell out of my husband when our then 1 year old launched herself out of the cot and landed on him while he was lying on the floor beside her!Firstly as a first time mam not knowing what the heck I was doing, your book was so reassuring especially regarding sleep under 6 months. He's still a bit like it now at nearly 3 - if I don't say the exact right words and start dilly dallying leaving the room he gets upset because he's confused and the other week actually asked me to leave, haha. And in the outset, there were not nearly as many tears as I anticipated, and because you are there and can comfort and soothe, I didn’t feel too bad about it.

this was never an issue he just woke up screaming for a bottle from 11pm on) he slept through until 6. Previously not keen on sleep training but found a method in which you "stay and support" the baby to fall sleep by themselves in their cot initially with verbal and touch support/distraction if crying starts and then gradually reduce the level of parental intervention. My focus is to help parents become informed, enable deeper understanding, to reassure and build confidence and belief in a compassionate and non-judgmental setting that will help you during this time. I think we have been quite strict with it for the past 2 weeks at least but we've also been lucky that when he has got upset he's responded well to the stay and support and there haven't been too many times where he's got very upset. Our baby is breastfed and I chose not to follow Lucy's feeding suggestions, as he doesn't have a strong wake to feed impulse, so I still feed him just before bed and naps, and on demand during the day. I have followed all the routines / schedules you suggested in the books and always refer back to the books as moves through the different age's groups.
