About this deal
We hope you enjoy visiting our site and discovering the many delights of a spanking world that existed long before the dawn of the internet. Imagine the full, crimson-whipped cheeks of Karen Dearlove’s arse, swelling and contorting as she writhes in her straps. He is an acknowledged expert on Victorian England with The Victorian Underworld amongst his history books.
The magazine was named after the Roman god Janus who has two faces, one looking to the future, and the other to the past. The tone of the story, like much of Manton, is sardonic, and the hypocrisy of the principals is evident throughout. In 1983 a fictional crime story The Ladykiller, based on Heath, was published under the name Todd Mallanson (a near anagram for Donald Thomas with an “l” substituted for the “h’). The male characters are of all ages but are all suitably lecherous and often affect a strait-laced hypocrisy which is almost self-mockery. The name may simply have served as an editorial pseudonym; it appeared in the masthead of later spin-off magazines such as Gordon Sergeant's Privilege Plus. The spoken words are usually instructions and commands addressed to the sufferers – “present your bottom properly, Lesley” is a typical phrase. Again we see the interpolation of genuine Victoriana with Mantonian originals overtly masquerading as 19 th century works.
In 1989, a consortium of national distributors informed publishers of spanking magazines that their wares would not be handled unless they conformed to certain rules.Consensual sexual activity happens in Manton’s work but it is secondary to the chastising and assault on the usually unwilling victims.
