About this deal

I don't know how original the text is, but it comes over as typical of HRH's warm, unassuming modest and companionable style.

Because it obliges you to sit down and make a careful observation of the selected subject, you discover so much more about it than by just pointing a camera and arriving at a result which is probably almost identical to somebody else’s photograph.Rosie Alderton, curating the exhibition for The Prince’s Foundation, said: "His Royal Highness has said before that he likes to sit in the actual environment and paint en plein air, and that, for him, taking a photograph doesn’t have the same feel as a painting. Personalized advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of information under California and other state privacy laws, and you may have a right to opt out. The cover gives a false impression of the contents, as most of the illustrations are postage stamp sized. Quite simply, I experienced an overwhelming urge to express what I saw through the medium of watercolour and to convey that almost ‘inner’ sense of texture which is impossible to achieve via photography. The Prince of Wales (or The Duke of Rothesay, as he is known in Scotland) has many fond memories of visiting The Castle of Mey on holiday as a child, with his grandmother.

This set of eight blank cards and eight matching envelopes is made from 100% FSC-certified recycled paper and come in a presentation-printed cardboard wallet to keep them neatly together, making them a lovely gift.An exhibition at Hampton Court Palace in 1998, held to mark The Prince’s 50th birthday, displayed 50 of his watercolours, while The National Gallery of Australia’s exhibition in 2018 to celebrate another landmark HRH birthday showed 30 pieces. The Prince signs his painting with a simple C and the date — C ’98, which for any other painter could leave future Antiques Roadshow experts wailing as to why the mysterious C never signed his name. Along with atmospheric vistas of the English and Scottish countrysides are often serendipitous views of Italy, France, the Turkish coast, a Hong Kong bay and an ancient Jordanian city.

The alternative WATERCOLOURS publication may be better for the pictures, though I have not had a chance to see it. I was sitting on a grass slope amongst a large quantity of sheep droppings with my back beginning to give out and with pins and needles in my bottom! Not all of the deluxe limited edition copies are signed by Prince Charles, but this copy was inscribed on the limitation page, affixed to front free end paper. As the oldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, King Charles III is the king of the United Kingdom.Ben, from Otley, took eight months to complete the complex interpretation at Dovecot Studios in Edinburgh after loaning The Prince’s original watercolour from Clarence House. Etsy’s 100% renewable electricity commitment includes the electricity used by the data centres that host Etsy. It all requires the most intense concentration and, consequently, is one of the most relaxing and therapeutic exercises I know. I and my wife only wish we could afford some of his real works but for now this picture book of some of his works will do.
